I'm not sure why you guys think beating really bad teams will bring the fans back. Im glad we won but beating god awful, South Carolina, garbage New Mexico State, terrible Vandy, and and a horribe Mississippi State team isn't going to change anything for someone who gave up on the team.

I think this partially true. There are a lot of fans who are done with stoops and the team, but I have a feeling there were many who were on the fence until after this game. If we make it to a bowl game this year, I expect a big jump in attendance the following season.

I simply do not understand missing a game on a beautiful night when you have a solid chance of winning. You can watch your TV anytime. And whoever skipped the game missed a thriller. Get off the couch and live your life, you aren't getting another shot.

Question for those griping about fan support:

When's the last time UK finished the season ranked top 25 in attendance?

Follow up question:

when's the last time the team finished the season ranked in the top 25?

It's understandable. Stoops lost a lot of fans up until recently and it's going to take time to get them back.

Bottom line it was a great night for football. We all have choices. I chose to take my son and had a great time. There is nothing like being at a live event wirh so many swings and then to win like that. I will and he will not forget it.

For those that are trying to legitimize staying at home because it so comfy that is on you. I'll keep my memories with my son. Also, those that watch it on tv and then go and complain about the youth of today not being able to socialize because of technology look at yourself first.

Dave

Ps those that live far away, economics or health concerns obviously I'm talking to you so spare those excuses.

Truth is I turned down great tickets because its simply better to watch on a huge HD screen at home...able to flip to numerous games

Live events are way overrated
This is the future, count on it. Schools and networks already know it and are reacting to it...

I think the crowd will be better for UGA. I think UK fans, if they cannot get behind Stoops, are smart enough to recognize these kids are still battling their asses off to try and make a bowl game. Honestly, I think some people still can't get that Southern Miss game out of their minds. Can't say I blame them, but this team hasn't mailed it in and I think crowds will be better moving forward.

Kudos to my fellow faithful that battled the elements tonight and pulled the Cats through!!!
I was there but we really didn't battle the elements. It was a beautiful night for football and it was in the low 50's or high 40's. It wasn't cold.

As you get older it's simply not worth dealing with parking, ticket prices, high concession and no wifi and drunk foul mouth idiots at games anymore just to say you were there

Even though it wasn't a great crowd I thought it was on of the loudest games this year. The fans were standing for most of the night cheering. At least in my section, thought it was awesome [thumb2]

Horse racing...

This time of year 8,10,12 thousand people who would typically go to the game, instead spend a day and their money at the track.

I think people forget how big of a deal horse racing culture is in this part of the world. Keeneland is tradition. The race track is in the blood of folks in these parts and it's a social event on top of that.

Add in the fact that UK typically is struggling this time of year, folks just are not conditioned to making football game day a priority this time of year in the thick of the SEC and horse race season.

Given the good weather and importance of the game the crowd seemed smallish. But I do understand the current "wait and see" aspect of football under CMS. Win at Columbia this week and let's see how those last 2 games look.

Peace

Drink all of your favorite beverage you want, nice spread of food, no waiting in line, invest only 4 hrs and relieve yourself at your convenience.

Lose to Southern Piss
Destroyed by Florida
Destroyed by Bama
Give up 42 to New Mex St
Struggle to beat pitiful vandy at home
Struggle to beat pathetic South Carolina at home (who started a true freshman in his 1st start)
Did everything humanly possible to give the game to a horrendous Miss st team

Im all about supporting the Cats, but this is Stoops 4th yr and we still look like crap

Im not going to spend my hard earned money to go watch mediocrity in year 4!

You can do whatever you want with your money but you're reasoning is pretty lame.

This team keeps winning, keeps improving and a segment of the fan base keeps finding excuses.

We haven't had a winning season in 4 years, and before last night we were .500, not to mention minus 1 on the season for games we were "supposed" to win. UK fans are more than justified in waiting to see some sustained competitiveness before they pack it in.

People can do what they want but the people making up excuses to discredit this staff/team for winning three sec games are really stretching for excuses.

We don't beat Carolina or Miss St regularly enough to downplay a win over them. They might be bad but their bad teams have beaten us before.

We had almost 600 yards against a conference opponent that has been fairly decent on defense. We also ran for 250 yards against a Vanderbilt defense that prides it's self on stopping the run.

Our players and coaches have worked their asses off and deserve the support.

I don't disagree with you on your point, but I do think TV has played a huge role in declining attendance as well.

But, I would hope, should we win next week, that we will see a packed house against UGA.
There is no doubt TV changed the numbers for live attendance. I went but only go to a few games now. Not only is it easier to watch at home, but the sitting and waiting through the multitude of media timeouts gets old, so double negative effect. Somebody needs to duct tape the guy in the red hat and stuff him in the equipment box. Didn't have back when only a few games were live TV.
