In the 3 early games today, Georgia Tech drilled Syracuse to stay unbeaten (now 5-0). Virginia squeaked past North Carolina in OT 17-16. NC went for 2 point conversion and came up half a yard short. Virginia is now in 2nd place at 4-0.

Wake Forest upset SMU 13-12 with a 50 yard field goal as time expired. SMU fell to 3rd place in the standings at 4-1 with the loss. Pittsburgh (currently leading NC State 7-0) can tie SMU in the standings with a win today.

SMU is 3-1. Third place is a log jam at the moment.

Nobody talking about UL! Could have played better last night, but a 2 TD win in a game against a Team nothing to lose! Well IMO last night a Good Win. We could have been UVA on the cusp of another OT loss but gets a win! And now SMU with a loss, against WF! Cards just have to go down to Fort Worth and win to eliminate them!! Cards continue to control their own destiny!!

Myself, Big Smythe. Little Smythe, and Big Mike, headed to Blacksburg, Va Friday afternoon for e Big game against a team VT. motivated just like BC! It will be our first trip to Blacksburg, so as guys in our 60, and 70 looking to complete our Road Trip destinations in the ACC. Only a few left to complete. Also planning a trip to Fort Worth for SMU yet this year!

GT now in first at 5-0
Virginia is second at 4-0
Pitt now 3rd at 4-1
UofL, SMU, and Duke in a 3-way tie for 4th at 3-1
7th: Miami is 2-1
Wake Forest, Virginia Tech and Cal are tied for 8th at 2-2. Those are all the teams with only 2 losses (giving them at least an outside chance at making the ACC CG).

Sat Nov 8!

Virginia is the lone unbeaten in conference at 5-0.
Georgia Tech and Pitt are tied for second at 5-1.
UofL, SMU and Duke are tied for 4th at 4-1.
Miami is 7th at 2-2, the only remaining conference team with just 2 losses.
Those 7 teams are the only ones with any reasonable chance at making the ACCCG at this point.

Virginia hosts Wake Forest (5-3). That game kicks off at 7pm, same time as we kick off against Cal.
SMU is at Boston College (1-8) at Noon today.
Syracuse (3-6) is at Miami (3:30pm).
Duke (5-3) has a non-conference game at UConn (6-3) (3:30pm)
Pitt and Georgia Tech are on Byes this week.

and there are also a couple of matchups of “spoiler” teams in conference:

Stanford is at North Carolina (4:30pm)
Clemson at FSU (7pm) is also in that category.

Clemson-FSU was supposed to be the game of the year in the ACC. It’s a crazy game. I don’t worry about being “tied for fourth” since we will catch up in total conference games, if we win out, I think we will be in the conference championship game. It won’t be easy- Cal is a decent team, SMU is dangerous especially with a veteran QB who torched us last year, and Clemson has a mountain of talent that just may remember how to play up to it when they come here/ with revenge on their minds. Just win, baby.

Isn't being the best ACC football team like being the smartest kid in special ED?

Isnt Alabama leading the SEC? Who did they lose to? 🤔🤫

Being the worst team in an overhyped conference is nothing to brag about, Jethro.

And here I thought Texas A&M was leading the SEC.

About the same as being a middle of the pack team in a non hyped conference. Tyrone.

The loss to Cal was quite the gut punch, of course. Cards at 4-2 are still not mathematically eliminated, but we definitely have to win out and have quite a bit of help to get to the ACCCG.

Georgia Tech, UVa, Pitt, and SMU are all 5-1 and Duke is 4-1.
UofL is next at 4-2, and Miami is right behind us at 3-2.

-in its final 2 conference games, Georgia Tech is at BC this week and then hosts Pitt. They host SEC rival Georgia to close the regular season.
-Virginia is at Duke and then hosts Virginia Tech.
-Pitt hosts Notre Dame, then is at Georgia Tech before hosting Miami to close the regular season.
-SMU is on a bye this week, resting up before they host UofL. They then travel to Cal for the season finale.
-Duke hosts Virginia, then travels to North Carolina, then is back at home against Wake Forest.
- Miami has NC State at home before finishing up with road games against Virginia Tech and Pitt.

Still way too many possibilities to sort at this point, but just going by the ESPN Predictor model, Georgia Tech, Duke and SMU are expected to finish at the top at 7-1, followed by Virginia and Miami at 6-2, then UofL and Pitt at 5-3. (The ESPN model has Duke beating Virginia at Duke this weekend).

Using that model as a baseline, to get into consideration under a multiway 6-2 tie, we would need to win out (giving SMU a second loss) then have Duke beat Virginia but lose to either North Carolina or Wake Forest. Considering the parity in this conference, it’s not out of the realm of possibility.

Miami actually had a pretty tough road ahead.

Careful, your Klan hood is showing, Randy.

TAMU and Bama are tied for tops in the SEC, and since they havent played H2H…

if you really think peacocking about being the worst team in the SEC is equivalent to being 7-2…I’m actually impressed you managed to find your way to this website to talk trash.

Quick, name top 2 conferences with the most teams in the AP/coaches polls. D’oh!
