I think KF could be in for a somewhat rude awakening if he doesn't get the offense figured out. I think they still have 3 protected games with B10 west rivals so he's somewhat "lucky" in that respect but it won't always be a full slate of them. He owes a lot to Phil Parker, who won the Broyles award this year iirc.

PSU OSU Michigan will likely be more frequent and offensive teams like USC, Oregon, Washington will be showing up as well.

Riley is attempting to take the defense seriously with the hires of D'Anton Lynn (big improvement with UCLA's D in his one year there), Matt Entz (NDSU HC now USC LB) and Doug Belk (Houston DC and one time thought of as a HC candidate now USC DB). Will it work? Who knows, but you see the earnest effort and attempt to improve it. Will we see the same from KF now that BF is out? I'd see if he could snag the UW OC Ryan Grubb (Alabama couldn't last year) since he's from Iowa and maybe anoint him HCIW.

Also think Riley has a better winning percentage that KF and has won conference titles and made the CFP. He's pretty good accomplishments even if this past year was underwhelming.
