I could see that. 2 divisions with 4 pods. The pod winners play for the division, and the divisional winners play in the championship. I don't know how they would do the structure of it, but I guess they would have 8 games, but the 8th game would be determined by ranking in the conference? That's when the pod winners would play each other, and everyone else will have their last team decided by some ranking system.<div>
</div><div>The more I think about this though... I'm not as sure about it though. What if they did something like this and a team wins their division but go 3-4 in the rest of the league. Should they really be allowed to play for the divisional winner?</div>

it shouldn't be the pod winners that play for the division. Just keep it the 2 best records in the division play each other if they haven't already played. If they have already played one another, then go by the head to head and if it's necessary and there are tie breakers that need to be settled, they could use the ranking system to set up matchups to where a winner has to be decided based on that last game for the division. I can't think of all the math and situations but I think it could work if done properly.

How ironic would it be if the first "super" conference was filled with teams that blow ***.

as a part of the last week of the regular season. You only schedule 11 games and leave the 12th game Thanksgiving weekend open. You'd determine at the start of the season that for example the East would play at the Central and the West would play at the Mountain so everyone could schedule knowing if that last game was at home or on the road. For the last regular season game, every team in the East/West plays at the school that finished in the same position in the CentralWest. For 28 of the 32 teams, this is just the last game of the season. But for the other 4, this is the semi-finals to see who plays in the conference title game the next weekend. I think this is a good move for those schools and the only chance any of them will have to get access to an automatic BCS bid.
