The kid is smart; the adults--not so much.

That just pisses me off! There is an age limit for reason, physical development. No rule is ever going to be 100% fair, but this one just seems ridiculous and has no point!

They are punishing this young man for his academic achievements!

I feel sorry for the kids caught up in this. Too bad. Hope the rule is revised.

It is an age-level football league with a grade-level limitation? So, a kid outside the box cannot play? Sad!

There's a solution but the rulers adhering stringently to their rules lack any sense of fair play. Make this an exception but with a motion to review the rule or amend the rule at season's end if needed. I don't think anyone would object.

You’re right, the 13 year old player has demonstrated more intelligence than the folks running the league, that’s for sure.

I figured it out - the people running the league are auditioning for the NCAA. Now it makes sense.

Back in the day many a 13 year old was a freshman in high school. It is rare now with a sept 1 cut-off, but when it was Dec 1, sept- Nov kids all started high school at 13 in Calif. maybe Texas always had a Sep 1 cut-off.

I agree with the philosophy that a normally enrolled student should play high school and not compete with junior high kids. But he is not a regular student, and he would not be allowed to compete on a high school team. He is big though for 10. Bigger than I was starting high school.
