There's lots of talk blaming Relf for our anemic offense....

but I think you're killing the messenger. Koenning is supposed to be our OC. His bio says he has vast experience coaching to spread option offense. My question is-where the hell did he do this? Was it A&M where they score 7 to 10 points a game? Mullin has taken over he play calling for the second half of the season and I suspect Hudspeth had a tremendous amount of input last year. Our offense is completely out of synch and we are NOT running the spread option. Our plays take forever to develope and there is absolutely no timing involved in our passing game. We need a young offensive mind, not some old fart (he's 7 days older than me). Am I a Relf fan? No but I appreciate what he has done under the circumstances. If Mullin replaces any coaches, I think this would be a great place to start.

Considering it wasn't his job to turn down an SEC scholly offer, andsecondly, he always brings itin practice and on game day (to the limitations of his injuries, if any). And third we all have our mental limitations that we more or less have to live with, he is no different. While I recognize you're entitled to your opinion, with all due respect I thinkhis record against Ole Miss and the fact he stuck with the program during some stupid play calling for four straightyears while getting beaten up regularly means Relf was definitely a fan of our alma mater. Why not return the sentiment?</p>

....what Croom left for an OL. He left some good starters, but not depth at all. And a lot of OL he signed left early*<div>
</div><div>Our offense this year took a step back from last year and it falls squarely on the OL. Hopefully some juco recruits and development of current players make that better for next year.</div><div>

I think the timing is off a lot because the QB is always having to field low snaps. Bring back the midget or elevate the snaps.

Relf has limitations- I have said as much- but I also have said that we did a good job of working within those limitations. That's not a critcism of the offense as a whole.

I- and many others- have also pointed out that our offense will likely improve once we shore up the o-line and have a QB or two that can do some more things in the passing game.

to our success. Mullen got about all he could get out of Chris and Chris gave great effort. With that said our offense will be much improved when we get a true dual threat QB in place as Coach34 has been saying. Relf is not dual threat and neither is Russell. With that said Russell is going to be a good qb for us and Mullen will play to his strengths. Is Dak the dual threat guy to take us to the next level? I don't know but early indications are positive. Relf is not a fast guy and it showed alot at MSB. He had several opportunities to tuck it and gain big yards and change the game and he either threw it away or the defense closed the gap quickly and put him down. I would venture to say that Relf may not break 4.8 in the forty, his strength is bulldozing and he lost some of that this year I suspect to injuries we were not aware of.

By "not a Relf fan"-I mean I don't think he's a great quarterback. I fully understand his limitations and I do apreciate the fact that he has given everything he can to acheive the job as QB. I still feel that we are not runnning the offense that brought Mullin success at his previous stops and even Relf could have run this offense with an OC that thinks and teaches the mentality associated with the spread option. I'm not bashing Relf, simply not satisfied with Koenning.
