This is the kind of win we've always seen from the losing side....
A team running the ball down our throat repeatedly and we can't do anything about it...
The tables have turned.
I'm calling it right now. This is a program-changing win. From here on out, UK goes to a bowl game every season under Stoops.
I felt this game would show if we've finally turned a corner. Could we come out in the 2nd Half and dominate?
Could we not choke a win away when we're on the verge of competing in the SEC East?
We answered those questions today. I feel this is the game where Stoops has turned the corner with the UK football program.
I have no doubt we will at least get 6 wins and go to a bowl now....
And we will even be better next season.
What say you?
I don't really care about the 2 games prior in the argument of "this is a program changing win." The 2 games prior should mean very little if beating Mizzou is such a program changing win. Using previous games to bolster the argument means you're talking more about the season as a whole than 1 "program changing win."basically I meant after winning 2 SEC games in a row, now we have a chance to win a 3rd and maintain some momentum in the SEC.
We did that today.
I said we would lose (I so happy for the team) they didn't!!! This is definitely a turning point game for the team and staff....Let's not lose our heads! Missouri is the worst team in the league! We have beaten the 4 worst teams now. Imo now I expect us to win at home vs uga. If there is a program changing win it will be at Ut to win the east. Everything else is just whatever
If you're making an argument, you have to choose the words carefully. Can't say "this is a program changing win" in reference to the whole season not one game and expect people to think you mean it was an important win to get to 6 wins. Everyone will agree to that. A lot of people aren't going to buy "program changing win."Everyone's mincing words
No it's not program changing to the extent of we are now a super power
Yes it is program changing because when people think of the bottom of the league, we should no longer be in that group

Agreed. Regardless, it's great to see the Cats in the SEC race headed into November. Especially after the way we started. We are on the same page. Could have definitely been worded better. Op feel free to copy/paste my post into the op[banana]
This. Pump the brakes OP. Hell, we beat Missouri last year too.I don't think beating a 2-5 team is a program changing win. A good win to have, yes, because it essentially assures us of a bowl game. We need to keep winning to get attention of recruits and the rest of the SEC. Important win? Yes. Program changing? No.
It doesn't matter. We beat the next team on our schedule!Did we just beat a ranked team or a 2-5 team?
It doesn't matter. We beat the next team on our schedule!
Yea...I'm feeling pretty lonely on my island. But at least I don't have to hide! You must be the only person who felt that way.
SEC wins on the road are always great.SEC road win. Not going to apologize for it.

I never doubted Stoops for a minute. This is the kind of win we've always seen from the losing side....

The best post of the day.It doesn't matter. We beat the next team on our schedule!
Season changing. That's the good news.
Agreed. But it is the way they are winning. When you can run the football, you put yourself in a position to win because you dominate the line of scrimmage. And success be gets success. Beat the teams you are suppose to beat gives you the confidence to step up in competition. In 4 years, we still only have ONE win versus an opponent that had a winning regular season.... EKU (6-5).
I really think you're not seeing the big picture.
If we lose today's game, that means getting to 6 wins is VERY iffy and we're looking at a likely 5 win season and NO BOWL yet again......
That kills recruiting.
That kills momentum.
Stoops is back to being on the hot seat with a very unhappy fan base.
Now, today we win, so all of that is changed. That's why it's program-changing.
We now will get 6 wins, which means:
1. Bowl game
2. Extra practices
3. Huge boost to recruiting
4. Stoops doesn't have the pressure he would have with another 5 win season and a very disappointed fan base
5. The players now expect to start going to bowls every season.
6. UK is no longer the doormat in the East. That is now Mizzou, Vandy, and SC.
Yes, I'm arguing that's why this win can be considered program-changing. You have to see the big picture and realize the whole trajectory for the program has changed today.
I know you're friends with brianpos and like to go around nitpicking certain posters like me, but that's o.k. I know our program took a pivotal step today no matter that you and Edgar Allen POS like to downplay the win.
There's a difference between being happy and thinking it's a program changing win. I love that we are in thick of the SEC race. I don't think beating Mizzou is going to open doors for this program that weren't there coming into the game.Agree with everything said. Well put. Some will never be happy. Don't understand that mentality but it is what it is
Well said, good points. However, if we lose to Austin Peay that would set things back. If we win that game is that a program changing win? I think we're just looking at it a little differently. The stretch after the Florida game certainly has been a program changing stretch. It's one I didn't see coming, and I'm glad I'm wrong. I think you're applying the big picture to one game, which is fine and I respect that. I see where you're coming from. I just think of something different when I hear "program changing win."I really think you're not seeing the big picture.

There is no possibility that we could lose to Austin Peay. The worst Joker team would be a 40 point lock over these guys. I don't mean to be disrespectful to Austin Peay, but they are outmatched against most FCS teams. They would be a 20 point underdog against Eastern Kentucky, if not more.Well said, good points. However, if we lose to Austin Peay that would set things back. If we win that game is that a program changing win? I think we're just looking at it a little differently. Wouldn't the best thing EVER be upsetting UL and keep them out of the playoffs? No it's not a program changing win and Georgia won't be a program changing win either. In years past Georgia might be considered so but not this season they aren't even in the top 25.
There are still 3 games remaining that can possibly be considered program changing. 2 weeks from now against UT. The last game of the regular season vs UL. Last barring a monumental let down any bowl victory.
The real program changing win would be winning the east. By some miracle pulling out a win against Bama.
They're not going anyway.Wouldn't the best thing EVER be upsetting UL and keep them out of the playoffs?
But, for them be on the precipice and have UK keep them out of the playoffs would produce the most delicious tears, everThey're not going anyway.
And, if they did, may God have mercy on them in the first game. Alabama will not.
