Mark Stoops explaining a puzzling decision against Tennessee: That’s what the analytic book said. I thought it was stupid too quite honestly. But that’s what the analytics book said. When I had time to reevaluate afterward, I said, Well, that’s a stupid book. But that’s what it said.”

Stoops has clearly lost it and I can't believe UK hasn't fired him, but you're totally exposed when you blame a bad coaching decision on analytics that you didn't think made any sense but you went ahead and did it anyway b/c that's what the analytics said to do.

If all you need is the analytics book, I can be a head coach.

I think Stoops has had enough of UK and they have had enough of him but neither one wants to walk away because of the money.

I think this quote from Stoops means one of two things:
1. He knows UK can't afford to fire him.
2. He's daring them to fire him so he can get the buyout money.

Can't think of any other reason a head coach in the SEC would say something that dumb.

Sad fact, the majority of coaches everywhere are cookie cutters and copy cats. They're afraid to do anything outside the current "norms."

The state of college football with NIL and revenue sharing...Below is the NYT projected value of the football teams and a 3 yr average of FB revenue. I put KY next to last. SC is listed as well as that other team from SC.

KY program as a whole has big money but its basketball not FB driving revenue according to AI. Stoops nor any future coach is going yo have much success until UK puts big money into the FB program. Not likely anytime soon. They might as well keep him.

As one can see money alone will not buy a championship but it for sure allows you to buy the talent to compete. If it was money alone Tex would win it every yr going away.

There is about a 100M valuation diff between SC and the other school yet revenue is only 8M diff on average. Dabo doesnt even want to play the transfer game so that theoretically give SC a long term advantage. But as for paying for top coaches and talent you are 110M a year behind Tex., 70M Ugag, 60M Bammer and 50M UT.

KY is 20M behind SC and 70M behind UT. UT needs to buy some DBs.

Vandy shows that if you spend NIL/rev on a quality QB you can over come some of the issues but I doubt its sustainable.

1. Texas: $2.38 billion (projected price)
Three-year average football revenue: $183 million

2. Georgia: $1.92 billion
Average football revenue: $147 million
3. Ohio State: $1.90 billion
Average football revenue: $116 million
4. Notre Dame: $1.85 billion
Average football revenue: $143 million
5. Michigan: $1.83 billion
Average football revenue: $141 million

6. Alabama: $1.74 billion
Average football revenue: $133 million

7. Oklahoma: $1.49 billion
Average football revenue: $135 million
8. USC: $1.40 billion
Average football revenue: $71.3 million

9. Tennessee: $1.37 billion
Average football revenue: $124.9 million

10. LSU: $1.23 billion
Average football revenue: $102.9 million

22. Clemson: $665 million
Average football revenue: $78.2 million

27. South Carolina: $563 million
Average football revenue: $70.3 million

37. Kentucky: $400 million
Average football revenue: $51.0 million

58. Vanderbilt: $228 million
Average football revenue: $38.1 million

Stoops needs to go. And even though Auburn won this past Saturday, Freeze needs to go as well.

Auburn fans really want to fire Freeze but he won't lose against a bad enough team to justify firing him. The Auburn people I know can't stand him but they admit that if he finds some way to beat Bama this year, he isn't going anywhere.

Stoops is tired of UK and UK is tired of Stoops but he isn't going to walk away from the money and they don't want to pay him the ridiculous buyout they gave him after his good season.

He's practically daring them to fire him. Either way, he wins. He'll either stay the the most ridiculously overpaid coach in America or he'll get a stupid buyout.

I'm waiting on a press conference after a loss where Stoops acts like George's boss at Kruger Industrial Smoothing. He sits down, shrugs his shoulders and says "Well, we tried, I guess it didn't work".

Why is Clemson so far ahead of us?
