The Bulldogs travel to play the Mont Central team coached by Bulldog Legends "The Browns". What are your thoughts on how this game will play out? Who wins?

I think we'll win a low scoring game 14-7,I really like our coaches, but come on now,we're talking about the brown's here, they have forgotten more football than ANY OF US could ever imagine knowing,I believe if we're gonna beat em this will be the year....I seen AB and his lovely wife at the AB/Tville game Saturday doing a little scouting,I could see the wheels turning in his head,I know it's still a well oiled machine, there's nothing he hasn't seen, our coaches will have the boys prepared and ready to go...14-7 TVILLE

I’m thinking there is a little rust left to get out of this brand new, shiny team with no place to truly call home.

I’m happy that the NCHSAA allowed them to merge this year, even though the school doesn’t exist yet.
(And am I correctly hearing that it could still be late to open for the 2020-21 school year?)

Montgomery Central will be fine, but this one goes to the Bulldogs.

A Thomasville win will be huge going into a bye week. Can heal up some bumps and bruises and hopefully a couple of the young kids that have lots of potential will step their game up and help the varsity win in CCC play.

Going with Thomasville here. Don’t forget Thomasville got a good coach themselves. Y’all giving A. Brown way to much credit. His daddy was a heck of a coach, I don’t know if he’s earn that kind of respect yet.

Benjie Brown? He won 3 consecutive state titles. Allen won 4 over the years, including after Benjie went to be a principal.

Game last week looked like two 1A teams playing with small rosters and kind of reminded me of the YVC days, other than the game used to be to see who was going for the state title.

Not taking to much from those titles, but it was like Boys vs Men when Thomasville was in 1a at those times. Get past Albemarle and you good. Those kids was great! He was below average at Davie & Ashboro.

Don’t forget his daddy was his DC at T-Ville. Very hands on.

Davie went 8-5 and 11-3, that's pretty good. Asheboro was the epitome of average going 6-5 and 5-6. Before Benjie got there, both programs were below average. Both improved under his watch from what they were.

It is a gross oversimplification to say Tville was men against boys in 1A ball. If that were the case they would have won state titles as soon as they dropped down in the late 90s, having just won the 2A title in 95. Winning titles is not easy. Their titles also came against Wallace Rose Hill, James Kenan and East Bladen. Those were very good programs in their own right, WRH has certainly been good to this day.

Allen has typically been more defensive minded, Benjie modernized Thomasville on offense while he was there. Both are great coaches.

There isn’t a team in North Carolina at any level of high school ball that collectively has the football brainpower of Allen and Benjie. Maybe one, but not both.
Having said that, I suspect they are still trying to get the players from two schools to mesh. Thomasville also has an excellent coach. But he won’t win this battle of coaches. He may win the game. Thomasville’s Achilles heel is low numbers and no depth. MC’s may be team chemistry. I’m just thankful that we’re getting them early in the season.
Roy Williams is a great coach and I love him. But he’ll never be Dean Smith.
I’m calling it too close to call.

Way off base.

, was 1a team with some good athletes. No more than Lexington or Salisbury or North Rowan or Albemarle. The players weren't men among boys.

Benji set the ground for Davie' s rise from sub mediocrity. They were a doormat when he got there. Illing did a great job building on that.

Asheboro was Asheboro. A lot a parental interference and know it alls. He was lucky to get out with the success he had.

21-14 Mont. Central over Thomasville. Switch the uniforms and this game looked like a classic Brown coached Thomasville team of the past. Run the football, great blocking, wear the defense down, and play good solid defense. Congrats to the Browns. The Bulldogs look to be much improved from a couple years ago. They should still have a good season.

Dogs got tired upfront and that came into play in the second half. They have a couple of real big kids on the sidelines that are not dressing that could really help up front, One of them started last year and is probably the best OL guy they have, hopefully he will be out there soon. Dogs have a week off to make adjustments and get ready for a tough conference slate. Timberwolves looked like a classic Thomasville team. Ground and pound dive, ISO and sweep to setup a few passes all night long. Congrats to them and both should have a good season.

Depth and size really hurt Thomasville last night and it didn’t help that the timberwolves running back was a beast of a back. You could really tell the dogs biggest weakness is size and strength. Speed is the dogs best weapon this season.

You are correct BigDawgFan16. Plus #3 ran very well for MC. #9 was strong on defense. I believe #3 & # 9 are sophomores for MC.

Yes #3 is a nice complimentary back to #6. Seems like I remember him playing fullback a few times and they gave it to him.
