I'm not calling anybody names, but I just got back from Alabama and Bryant-Denny stadium. Their stadium is big and has a lot of luxury suites, but otherwise is not nearly as nice as CWS or the parking area/tailgating area ,UK has! I don't want to call anybody out,but UK has everything facility/fan wise to be a competitive program in the SEC! The only pieces missing are the competent management and coaching ,that the long suffering, loyal fans of UK football so desperately deserve! The excuse makers and apologists evidently , don't get around the SEC ,to see how close we are, other than the competency at the top to sucessfully execute a winning program! The rest is pure ignorant BS!

Regardless of how hard 'Bama tried or didn't try, you have to like the effort by UK especially in the first half.
It's too bad it wasn't 10-10 at the half, as Eric noted it could have been. Then we would have seen for certain whether the Tide was all in or not.

As for the Merriman arguments, I'll just say this. UK, under Stoops, has looked ill-prepared, game management is woeful, half-time adjustments are non-existent, and player development is questionable at best. All the other stuff is logical but not the reason most on here think CMS is in over his head as the head.

I've been screaming this....

Evidently, a lot of our own, pathetic whining fans don't seem to understand we have some of the nicest facilities in the country right now and we need to celebrate it/capitalize on it.

Stop criticizing and downplaying our facilities by saying "everyone has this...we're just catching up".

Our new facilities are BETTER than some other SEC football schools right now.

We have such a losing culture that our own fans can't even acknowledge a positive and help create positive momentum.

Stoops, of course, needs to do his part and beat Vandy this weekend and I believe the program will have some real momentum going into the next game with two SEC wins, improving Defense, and well coached offense with a potent running game capable of running on anyone.

*Kentucky covered!!!!!

*First and foremost, I think it's important to acknowledge UK's six points. Though UK failed to score a touchdown, the two successful field goals means Kentucky beat their historical scoring average of games played in Tuscaloosa (less than 5 PPG). So hats off to Eddie Gran!

*I was impressed with how UK started the game. Not the score so much, but their attitude. They didn't appear to be intimidated in the least.

*A very competitive first half. Had someone told me UK's defense would allow just one 1st half touchdown, I would have laughed hysterically. Overall, though the defense allowed damn near 500 yards of total offense, they held Alabama to three offensive touchdowns. That's about as much as we could ask considering this is, according to douche bag Lee Corso, the worst defense in college football!

*Three plays from S. Johnson that really hurt. The ball to Conrad that was batted down deep in Tide territory. Then the fumble on that same possession. Then the fumble near midfield that 'Bama returned for a touchdown. Those three plays killed UK's incredibly slim chances of remaining competitive for 60 minutes. Overall, it's difficult to evaluate Johnson's overall performance. Alabama was all over the guy most of the time.

*I was surprised that UK waited so long to get Snell involved.

*Jordan Jones. I'm starting to love watching this guy play football!

*I guess Mark Stoops lamented being in 2nd and long in his halftime interview. Note to Coach Stoops...if you want to avoid 2nd and long, maybe don't run the football right at the Alabama d-front on virtually every 1st and 10.

Overall, honestly, tonight's game went a lot better than I expected. Maybe it was Alabama coming out flat. Maybe it was UK coming out motivated. Maybe it was a combination of the two, but UK did a very nice job in the first half. The game should have been 10-10 or no worse than 10-6 at the break. Oh well.

GBB!!![

Veery good post, you should consider becoming a regular, LOL

Saban was pissed because Hurts didn't even see the guy open in the flat. By getting pissed off now he teaches the kid and he learns from his mistakes which he cant afford to make against a legitimate opponent. Did you not see him ripping Lane Kiffin a new one during the WKU game? Are you kidding me with that logic? Saban is the same guy who thanked the seniors after the championship win for their effort on the field that year, and then proceeded to chew out the juniors on down for how they played in the second half of that winning effort. The guy has an assistant turn his car around in the parking lot just so he doesnt have to waste 15 seconds backing up when he leaves. "Wouldnt have been so pissed..." you've got to be kidding.

Hell no I am not kidding, yes Hurts didn't see the TE, Sabah was pissed, yes I saw him chew Kiffin during WKU because he was pissed off his ******* team didn't score more points! So screw you and your condescending ***!

My logic is Saban and Kiffin weren't experimenting and playing around they were calling plays to try and score more against our pitiful, overmatched defense. Saban was pissed his team didn't execute.

Just back from Alabama and one more time, our facilities are as nice or nicer than theirs other than size and NC trophies! What we need is better team and coaches, because the fans are the equal of any in the SEC! If the other schools fans put up with what UK fans have, they couldn't fill up a good high school stadium!
