Tom Hermann not exactly setting world on fire
You wonder if Texas was behind that....knowing that it would likely push Herman out.no shocker here, especially after the B12 snubbed Houston.

I think Strong will end up at Ohio St with his old pal Urb.

There is a great deal of truth in what you say. Both Texas and Oklahoma are primed to find new homes. IMO, OU would fit nicely in the Big 10 while Texas to the SEC makes sense. That scenario would require a second team to make an even number in each conference. Who would they be? Regardless, it appears to college football fans in the Big 12, major changes are on the agenda.Exactly, Texas runs the Big12, they are the reason the Big12 almost fell apart a couple years ago. With that said, I think the Big12 decided not to expand and bring Houston in so Texas could walk over and steal Herman. They had what was best for Texas when they voted, not what was best for the Big12. They know one of the other P5 conferences will try to grab them the day the Big12 ends, While over half the conference will be left to fend for themself. OU will get grabbed up, but those other Texas schools could be left scrambling.
No way Texas ends up in the SEC. There are too many teams with too much pride to let them.keep their own network and keep all that money to themselves. You think Alabama is going to hold their nose to get another whipping post in the West? There is a great deal of truth in what you say. Both Texas and Oklahoma are primed to find new homes. I wasn't making a declarative statement. Texas would have to allow the Longhorn Network be absorbed into the SEC network. SEC members would have to allow that to happen. But, who knows, we live in a time of change that often makes little sense except ESPN.No way Texas ends up in the SEC. Texas said same about Saban.
Texas has an UNC-esque holier than thou attitude concerning their "academics" and most alums I've run into look down on the SEC schools fwiw. Texas will never be in the SEC and neither will Oklahoma.
NEVER SAY NEVER!!!!!
OLD STOLL FIELD GUY
If the Big 12 implodes, I think the SEC would make a play for Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. That would probably lead to a Western team getting bumped into the East to even out the divisions. Not sure who that team might be (maybe Mississippi State?).
Texas isn't going to allow that. Saying Texas will never be in the SEC unless they let the Longhorn network be absorbed by the SECN or unless the SEC let's them keep it, is the same thing as saying Texas will never be in the SEC.I wasn't making a declarative statement. It's pretty obvious with the way UH has played of late that Herman has checked out because of everything going on in the background with UT and possibly LSU.
He was for a while there, but getting blown out by SMU certainly doesn't help his image.
