After being told to piss off by the B12, if i were houston, I would court the SEC...match made in heaven.

Would be mutually beneficial. SEC gets Houston market and further into Texas. Like Aggies, Houston gets to pitch "Texas and SEC football" to recruits.

It makes some sort of geographical sense (not that geography is a major concern in modern conference realignments).

The only school on that list that has any hope of getting into the Big 10 is Kansas, and that hope would be slim. Every school that has been added to the Big 10 since their expansion began with Penn St has been a member of the AAU. Nebraska is the only sort of outlier. They were members when they joined but have lost their membership. Their is zero chance that a school with an academic ranking like KSU or WVU is getting an invite.

Notre Dame and Texas appear to be the most obvious candidates for Big 10 expansion, however Oklahoma could possibly get in. They are not a member of the AAU, but their Academic Rankings are high enough that they might be willing to bend the rules. One thing that appears to be certain is that Oklahoma and Texas are looking to bolt as soon as the grant of rights contract expires.

I don't know if the B10 is going to be able to keep their noses in the air forever. When things start to change, they may not be able to afford to keep their little club together if the ACC, SEC, Pac12 get bigger and expand into other markets.

Obviously it's all conjecture at this point. There are countless scenarios of how things could shake out.

I think in the end money and markets will win out.

Again, SEC would be wise to try and conquer Texas. Not only Baylor, TCU, Tech but Houston and SMU as well.
