Tougher Conference?

I’m not familiar with the schools in Reidsville’s conference, but I would have to say Shelby. Despite the defending 2A West runner up Burns also being in it, even though Thomas Jefferson is decent, the fact that four 1A schools are in it probably makes Reidsville’s conference stronger, that and the fact Hunter Huss won their appeal to stay 3A. Also East Gaston has been horrible. Burns went to a running clock BEFORE HALFTIME of our last meeting. Granted things might get better with their new coach. And they have some good JV’s coming up.

Yet, Shelby still has teams in county, non conference opposition that can and have beaten us in any given year. Reidsville does not! And, with this thing thankfully going back to one division, you guys will likely continue having never to leave Reidsville, haven’t since ‘15. You all are spoiled by it, too. But yes, our schedule weakened. Look forward to humbling TJ some, though. Their fan base have had the audacity to talk smack to Shelby fans on social media in recent years. Beating up on other 1A teams gave them a lot of false bravado, when they’d do good to beat East Rutherford, Chase, and RS, their fellow county teams.
Yet, Shelby still has teams in county that can and have beat us in any given year. Reidsville does not! And, with this thing thankfully going back to one division, you guys will likely continue having never to leave Reidsville, haven’t since ‘15. You all are spoiled by it, too. Once every 5 years or so the county has some solid teams. But not sure I foresee it any time soon. Looking forward to seeing you guys next season though!

Yes, Shelby cant bus in 3rd graders to avoid Reidsville anymore after this season.
Dont get used to the alignment the next 4 years, they will go back to split and/or 5A

It’s still not that far though. I mean reidsville was in the same conference as Randolph county schools at one point

Shelby.. granted they still have Burns but the only team there that will be somewhat competitive is Jefferson but they aren't at that level yet. Poor Highland Tech.. wonder how generous Shelby will be with them every year, 60-0?
Reidsville will have some challenges in that conference. Walkertown's on the up and McKoy wants them to be a transfer spot. If they get kids from the 4A schools they will be hard to handle in another year or two; granted Reidsville's pretty equal to Forsyth's speed. So could North Forsyth if they get over their drama; their sophomore class is really good minus lineplay. West Stokes is always tough granted they got to transition to their new HC. I even see Morehead doing better.. only team not benefitting's McMichael.

Oooona,(I’m a country boy from Shelby, that’s how I would say it). You’re gonna want to pull out rulers next. Smh. We already got “Who has the best gold helmet” from you guys in the past.
I'm just a country guy who played at Reidsville years and years ago. We had always had gold helmets, so there! After graduating from Reidsville, my family moved to Mooresville, where my young brother played football. I can remember when Mooresville went to Shelby to play for the championship and I attended the game. Shelby won but I think only by a touchdown. One thing that has always stuck in my mind was that there were no punts in that game.
Anyway, Shelby can't cry about having a tougher conference anymore!
Yep and it’s 49.6 miles from ER to Reidsville.

They have had some success, though, made some deep playoff runs. My classmate’s son, Nomi McMullens, was a stud for them a couple of years ago.. I am aware of the Mitchell’s, Cherokees, and Mount Island Charters, etc, though.
You’re not interrupting, my guy. Your input is always welcomed, and as you mentioned earlier, it’s good to get away from talking about all that other bs that many seem to be consumed with these days..

They were in the same conference though. Lion attack is talking about reidsville making two or 3 hour playoff drives. If reidsville had to go to randleman or eastern Randolph in the playoffs, I don’t consider that a long road trip
Coach Wilbanks hates the conference were going into but said there's not much he can do.
But he said he will schedule 4 really tough non conference teams, in that Shelby could still have a pretty tough road, and then Burns on sch too so that be 5 very good teams, and 5 bad, inless Tj has good years.

I know Crest and KM will be two of your four, and probably South Point. So that leaves room for one more. Does Freedom get dropped for someone even tougher? I hate getting cut to 10 games. That could have been one more chance to schedule someone even tougher. I still would have to say Crest, KM, South Point and Freedom for Shelby. I doubt South Point and Freedom would have room for both Burns and Shelby I would like to pick up Hibriten. Maybe we could. I saw on Twitter that they were having trouble finding games. I have a feeling we’ll keep East Rutherford. We kept them on the schedule when we were in the Big South in 2017 and 2018 and when we were apart from them in the early 2000s but I’d love to upgrade, no disrespect.
