I'm sure there will be plenty on here sitting in front of the tv with a bottle of Jergens.

I think we have more trouble in developing talent than we do anything else. Until this bunch shows me they can put a functional QB out there then I will hold judgement on who is at fault. Towles and Barker both highly rated QB for our standards and neither one have looked good.

I will be pulling for Patrick and esp pulling for the BC offense to put up at least 14 points!

Except BC is supposed to have a pretty good defense. That may keep them in the game for a little while

How did Towles avoid the sit out a year transfer rule? Is he in graduate school?

PT didn't look very good at the goal line. Two bobbles, one lost fumble. He was throwing the ball pretty well.

Pussification of college football continues. Hit on Towles was legal.
From what I saw, he just doesn't have the necessary pocket presence. When he rolled out wide, he just kept running and didn't keep his eyes downfield. When he escaped the pocket, he again didn't have his eyes downfield even when he had a couple of seconds to do so. He never had a lot of time but you still have to have a feel where to go and moving up is more preferable to going back or to the side. If you had a super OL, he might do pretty well.

Defended PT from the awfulness all last year but I have always agreed with this.

His pocket presence, feel of rushers, and touch on short or slant passes just isnt there.

I truly believe if he had been under a QB coach like Richt for 4 years along with the UGA oline, rb's and wrs he would be much closer to the potential many saw early on. And Richt would still be at UGA.

Many will disagree but PT or any QB for that matter that has a different OC/system EVERY single year just doesnt have a chance if they have key issues to fix.

The size, talent, speed, athleticism, etc Clemson just pops off the screen the second you turn to the game...

Dabo has done an exceptional job of getting top tier SEC talent to go to Clemson.

You want to know why SC and UGA haven't been doing so hot? Dabo is raiding the southern pipe lines, and it has affected those two schools the most.

I saw Watson play in high school for Gainesville High School (Georgia-hour northeast of Atlanta- 30 minutes from Athens). He threw the most perfect and accurate spiral I have ever seen. There was a reason he was rated as the #1 player in the country. How UGA botched his recruitment is a story too long for this thread.

And the sickening thing is , Louisville went toe to toe with them on their home field . When I look at the presidential election and the Louisville football program, I just gotta say , How the hell have we come to this.

Dude laid the effin hammer on PT, legal hit though.
Yes he did. You wonder, though, if BC had laid the same hammer on Watson, if the call would have been reversed.
You can bet if Kentucky put that kind of a hit on anybody other than another Kentucky player, it would have been called targeting. Just as in politics, there are double standards in football.

UL is very comparable to Clemson. Two programs that 15-20 years ago weren't typically in the national conversation with Heisman candidates.

Enter Dabo and Sneaky P.

Offensive oriented coaches with a modern mindset and approach, and perhaps more importantly an understanding of where and who to recruit.

They're going and getting kids who are good enough to play at UGA, FSU, Miami, Florida, Bama, Auburn, etc but who would maybe have to wait a few years behind the depth those teams have. Kids who are on the radar of the top schools but not top priorities for whatever reason

I agree with your last statement, but I also think it is questionable as to whether he would succeed at a high level even if he had consistent solid coaching. I would say 50-50 on that.

I love Towles but he wouldn't be successful with consistent coaching because his accuracy is terrible. If a coach could find a way to fix that he might have moderate success.

Either way I hope for the best for PT.

I think I could write an entire book with excuses laid out for PT by the UK fanbase.

Bad Oline
Bad Receivers
Bad coaching
Backup Center
Hangnails
Slick footballs
Hair got in his face
Lost a contact winking

The one excuse that was legit was the multiple OC's with different systems but at the end of the day, kid just wasn't that great of a QB. He certainly wasn't the 1st round pick so many clained he was.
