What are your thoughts? USM has a really really good and deep team this year, and it will be a tough environment to play in. Will be similar to an SEC road environment. Great road test for us early in the season. Southern is known for performing well in these midweek games, especially against SEC teams. Their biggest crowds of the season are ALWAYS against State and UM in midweek games. It is their super bowl, which can be dangerous for us.
Last Tuesday they absolutely put Alabama's dicks in the dirt. Two grand slams, put up 13 hits and 14 runs against a pretty solid SEC team. Oz threw something like 8 or 9 different pitchers that game, and changed them out almost every inning. Even when they were dealing, so I wonder if that will happen again Tuesday against us. I don't know who we start. Duke Stone threw 65 pitches today, so it won't be him.
I would accept splitting the Hattiesburg-Starkville with them. One loss wouldn't be the end of the world.
