I wouldn't call that rolling. It was 18-7 until y'all ran back a desperation hail mary duckduck wit less than 1min remaining. Rolling? Idk. Pulled it out? Yes. We left 14 points around the 5. I will say this: Tarboros D is nasty as always. And our qb needs to learn how to control his passes. All and all, another classic battle. It was fun.
From a northeastern fan sounds like a good game wish we could play both of y'all this year but we can't play everyone hope both of you have great seasons
Tarboro's defense won this game. Offensively y'all had some procedure calls, fumbles, and the kicking game is terrible. SW had a couple chances at goal line, and we missed an open receiver for a TD, but our ground game was shut out. Stay healthy and Good luck the rest of the way.
I don’t feel like yall use Porter enough. He’s a great talent. There’s gotta be other ways to use him other than letting him run go routes everytime
This game actually had some drama in it. SWE managed to get into Tarboro’s backfield and disrupt plays. I don’t know who was missing blocks but SWE was doing something right. I know the game film will be helpful in preparing for the playoffs.
There were no personal fouls and the fewest flags I have ever seen during this rivalry. Even the SWE PA guy did a good job of cheering for SWE and giving Tarboro credit. I thought I was in the twilight zone. Hopefully SWE will figure out how to maximize that pass game and make some noise this year.
All in all, another win for the Vikings. We have some talent that is still developing and that defense is still nasty.

I absolutely give props to SWE for a stout run defense. I am honestly surprised Tarboro made no effort to throw the ball. I give Tarboro’s defense some credit, but the Cougars were extremely predictable inside the 10. If SW wants to be a serious threat in the post season, they will need to put TDS on the board when they get inside the 10.
Why has no one posted the score ? Tarboro didn't blow out SWE or score 60 plus points ?
Sorry TD, apparently you weren’t paying attention this week when Tarboro folks were saying this was going to be a really competitive game.
We dont have many short pass plays in the book. And let's face it...y'all know the wishbone. Most other teams don't. Y'all know exactly what the play is by the way we line up. I think we know yours. It's just a matter of who is stronger on any particular play. Nobody knows our offense the way Tarboro's staff does.
Tarboro allowed SW to hang around with penalties and horrible special teams.... Tarboro was clearly 100% the better team and not even close honestly. Score could have easily been a couple more scores for Tarboro. Tarboro was dominant as usual .
I don’t know about any of the other posters but I for one didn’t post updates because I couldn’t get service out there.
I’ve got to disagree. Tarboro was better, but when is the last time anyone forced Tarboro to punt 4 consecutive drives. Committing false starts and poor special teams is a weakness. It needs to be addressed fast.
Y’all are lucky y’all only have to play Tarboro once a year so y’all only get one beat down instead of two. Word has it that former coach Raymond Cobb was the one coaching the game last night
I hope the Cougars take the miscues and learn from them. You guys have a chance to be really great. I’d love to see SWE finally break through and get to a state title game. This team showed it can stay on the field with anyone, but they have to correct the mistakes and get after it!
Agree. My concerns shift to the offensive line and blocking. SWE did a good job getting into the backfield. I am sure the game tape will help sure that up going forward.
Have to make sure the passing defense gets a little better. SWE had some huge passes set up but the catches just weren't made. If East Surry makes it all the way to the finals again, they will make the catches. We have time to get that part worked out, but man was the run defense strong!
You will give Tarboro Defense some credit?? Lol they were outstanding and to give them some credit truly is a slap in the face to their performance last night holding a SWE team to only 7 points that has been scoring lights out until last night
The defense was very good. Just reading thru the posts i think a few things are missing. Its not easy to play a perfect game in that stadium with the huge crowds, a some what biased announcer and a not so sure fingered clock keeper. Plus SWE has a very talented and experienced team and Tarboro is a younger team with only six returning starters. Both teams know each other's offense very well and are not going to be easily fooled. Tarboro played much better when they ran the NASCAR offense and that had SWE on their heels. Both teams blew a couple of scoring drives.The Vikings defense was really tested especially the pass defense and it was the best i;ve seen in a while. It was a game that both teams will see what they need to work on and the Vikings staff will correct theirs. Hats off to the teams and coaching staffs.
My point was inside the 10, play calling for SW was very predictable. You know what’s coming. They get credit for stopping it. They still have a little work left on their non-goal line situations, but a wins a win. I’ll take it.
I agree that Tarboro's defense is the absolute truth, but I'm not convinced that Tarboro is 100% the better team. Had we punched it in both times we were at the goal line, and caught that wide open pass in the 1st quarter, we would have won. Woulda, coulda, shoulda...I know. But we clearly had the opportunity to win the game. Tarboro stopped 1 of the 3 missed scoring opportunities. Southwest missed the wide open pass. Southwest fumbled the ball at the goal that Tarboro recovered. We couldn't run the ball to save our souls, yet we still missed three touchdowns. It's not like SWE never had a chance.
It was a great game. A rivalry game. Both sides had chances. It wasn’t over until late. I thought it was a classic.
Simply put Tarboro' s defense stopped your scoring opportunities. Missed passes, fumbles, whatever, as SWE stopped Tarboro's. .
Yea I guess y’all weren’t in control of the scoreboard and times last night we saw what was going on with the scoreboard and we all loved how Coach Raymond Cobb coaches the game last night never seems to amaze me that he never has retired. Guess they don’t trust his son to be able to pull out a victory pretty sad
I’m not sure why their coaching situation concerns us. Somebody’s got to Coach the team. Whether he wants to be on the payroll or not doesn’t concern me. It’s about the players on the field.
And speaking of scoreboards, if that game had been played in Tarboro, we would still be there now trying to get the right time up on the board.

Both teams made mistakes that led to stalled drives. I’m 100% convinced that if they played 10 times Tarboro would win 10. But no need to debate that now. If SWE goes 2AA instead of 2A y’all should have a cakewalk to the 4th round.
Raymond coaches the team no doubt and he got the same L his son would have received... SW is simply a few notches below Tarboro that is all there is to it..... It is laughable to try to compare the 2..... Tarboro football starts at Thanksgiving basically.... They had tons of penalties and played average and still whooped SW as expected.... Losers look for "moral" victories .... We dominated as usual..... The WR was soooo over rated. I hear he is good in basketball that is great because he will be lacing them basketball shoes up soon. Good luck in basketball because we will be playing football thru December.
