No, Georgia fans don't want Mark Richt back. He had grown too comfortable over the 15 years, turned over all his coaching duties. It was a time for a change for both parties. Now I don't know if Kirby was the right hire or not, right now it doesn't look like it. I was excited about our OC when he was announced, lets say I am alot less excited about him now. He is so predictable with his personnel, when one WR is in, we run, everytime, we have a starting WR who hasn't been thrown to in 7 games, not one time, zero. McKenzie lines up in wide slot, he is running a reverse, everytime, I can call it as soon as huddle breaks. Defensively we are playing pretty good, special teams are a disaster and we have a special teams coordinator. We are trying to out physical people with an OL that has 2 starters under 285, a failed DL and a grad transfer from an FCS school, but insist on trying to drive them off the ball, when we have issue holding the point of attack, backs are getting hit 2 yards deep, and no playmakers at WR. I watched 6-7 games yesterday where a WR went up and made a play on a ball for a big completion, our guys don't do that, its hold your breath on catching it if they are wide open and it hits them in the numbers. We have 5-6 drops every game.
I knew we wouldn't be very good this year, but I don't think I was expecting this bad, I thought 8-4, but don't think we get that this year, 6 might be our ceiling. But even with that, I am glad for us, and Mark Richt, that a change was made. Now I would like to have a Mark Richt type as OC, which basically what he is doing at Miami now, but he didn't want to do that with us any longer.
