I don't know who Carolina is starting at qb, it could be Ort or it could be the true frosh. The frosh is a great athlete and very fast, maybe a better athlete than Conner Shaw, who I thought was one of the most underrated players in the conference the last 10 years, the frosh is the fan favorite. But regardless, they have no Lattimore in the backfield, they have no Cooper at WR, offensively they are very depleted in talent. Most know I have never been a Muschamp fan, I was glad to see him get the USC job, otherwise he was going to be our DC. He is going to have he least amount of talent he has ever had to work with, he went the recruiter route in hiring his staff. The guy who was at UGA was a recruiter, he wasn't known for coaching up WR, almost his entire staff fit the same mold. Many of their fans are questioning their recruiting, they have 18 or so committments, most with offers from the southern conference and conference USA. I think Muschamp is going to really set USC back. Of course we also have a new head coach, with zero head coaching experience, he could set us back a few years, but he has generated more excitement in the program than we have had in 10+ years, of course a 6-7 win season will end that honeymoon.
I think we are in the top 3 in the division, whoever comes out of the remaining 4, UK, Missouri, Vandy, USC, will take a big step forward and will be pushing to make the step to top 3 in 17. I think USC could be the bottom team in the East this fall, leaving the other 3 to fight for 4th in the East. UK drew a tough draw with Bama from the West, but Vandy has OM and Missouri has LSU, USC has A&M with State so they probably have the weakest west games. This fall will be exciting for sure. I hope I haven't rambled too much, I have a summer cold and been drinking too much tonight.
