t.v. provider. You haven't made any progress with HD either. Still, I haven't switched.

Anyone know what the hell their deal is?

who pays who? And who's fault is it that WCBI isn't in HD yet on DirecTV

directv apparently pays the local station owners and morris is holding out. I'm assuming it's the same for HD from those stations. It can't be a technical issue since other providers have them in HD.

you know what happens when you assume things though.

I've been dealing with DirecTV and WCBI for over 5 years trying to get CBS in HD in the Starkville area. WCBI blames DirecTV saying that they have all the equipment in place yet DirecTV just won't pick up the HD feed yet. At the same time, I've been trying to get WCBI to grant an HD waiver so I could get CBS in HD from DirecTV but they won't budge. They say "just get an off air antenna and hook to my TV." I say screw you WCBI cause I have 5 TVs and only ONE has a built in HD tuner. So that means I've got to by buy five 17ing rabbit ears and four tuners. Plus, the darn rabbit ears won't work well indoors cause I have a metal roof and live in a heavily wooded area. So, I have to put up an outdoor antenna on a very TALL pole to get good reception then I have to somehow run wires from all my TVs to that new antenna. All that cost just so I can watch your crappy channel?? HELL NO!!!! That's why I have a 17ing dish on my roof in the first place!!!!

And y'all thought the Chicken was ornery!!!!!

I'm wondering if Morris and WCBI are trying to work the HD feed into the deal.

I got an antenna attached to my Directv box. So now I have 2 channels with the same # in my Directv guide. Channel 4-1 Alerts (telling me about the Morris deal) and Channel 4-1 WCBI HD. When I punch in 4-1 on my remote it goes to the alert channel and I want the damn CBS channel. I have to pull up the guide or channel up to get to the right channel 4-1. It ain't right to have two channels with the same #

I got SD duplicates hidden and I still get it in my guide and if you punch 4-1 on the remote it goes to the alert channel not WCBI HD 4-1. I haven't tried it but if I have a TV series set to record on 4-1 I'll probably record the alert channel.

The black highlighted channels indicate that they are being received from the OTA antenna. The blue highlighted channels indicate that they are being received from the Directv dish. That is normal. Having two channels with the same 4-1 # is not.
