We don't win our last game very often

When we finally beat UT in 2011, it didn't feel like I wanted it to feel. Neither team was very good and the game was lame.

I would have been thrilled had we finished them off in any number of those other close losses throughout the decades, but for some reason, that one didn't feel like it should have.

But today, this is different.

We finally close out the regular season with an impressive victory, on the road no less, against a "superior" opponent.

Finally.

Honestly folks, the only thing I actually remember from November 1984 is Reagan > Mondale. I was young, and admittedly don't remember UK beating UT being discussed that fall. In fact, the first UK-UT game I explicitly remember happening was Mark Higgs getting stopped at the goal line.

But today was different. We did it. We beat the #11 team in the country and the presumptive Heisman winner on the road to close out our season.

This is without a doubt the first and only time in my UK football watching life that I felt like this after the last game of the regular season.

And I'm hungry for more.
