We need to get U of L off schedule.

It would probably benefit them too. They could use a more quality opponent than us on schedule to reach their goals.

We are after bowls in Shreveport and Memphis and they are after BCS and playoffs. They can drop us and add a Texas A&M type and we can drop them an add a Texas at El Paso. It's a win for everyone.

With 8 sEC games we don't need another top 25 program. It will cost us a bowl game every year

The NCAA added an extra game a little over a decade ago. UK put a cupcake in that slot and dropped Indiana and added another cupcake in that spot. In the late 90s our OOC schedule was UofL , Indiana, and one New Mexico St. type team.

SEC east is not a good conference right now. All UK has to do is finish 3-6 against P-5 schools to make a bowl.

Totally agree. It ain't going to happen though. We won't beat them any time soon unless we get a good QB and a great defense.

ehh...I would only agree if we got IU back for football to replace them...borderline season ticket holders wont bite if you water down the schedule with 4 no bodies.

UL's on a role but give them time and they'll fall back in line.

We've played two teams worth a damn so far this year and they both pummeled us. That's the only reason to get UofL off the schedule.

I agree right now the UofL game serves no purpose right now. We need to consistently go bowling to build up the program.

I would get them off, but not because the game is unwinnable. It will soon become winnable.

We should yank it because their program, and their fanbase, and their college are filth. Porcinis sex trysts. Katina and the ho's. Honest Bob. Jurich. As far as the fanbase goes, Zipp. Filth, from A to Z, from beginning to end. Yank the game in football and basketball and in any other competitive sport. Never should have scheduled that filthy commuter midmajor school in the first place. I hate them.

Are you sure we don't already have one, I don;t really know what to make of it but he looked great at the start, who knows what the injury cost us? Then again our frosh looks good and we have two exciting commits.

I say don't drop them, start beating them.

That's a loser mentality. In life you just cant take your ball and go home without putting up a fight.

Yes, well, we give them quite a fight in basketball, and I'd kick them off the basketball schedule as well. Their program is filth and should be banned in all sports.

No way would we drop them from the schedule. The past two years we had excellent opportunities to beat them.

Until Louisville hires some coaches who morally meet our standards. I'd say remove them from the schedule, and don't validate scum U.

UL is riding high right now but that wave will settle down. they've got lightning in a bottle with jackson and petrino.
With each win petrino's resume looks more impressive.
Sooner or later his ego and offers from some big time program will be too much for his 'love' of L1c4 to overcome. i predict sooner than later.

If we had just beaten southern miss, we'd be basically guaranteed a bowl game already.

Just sayin they've never been at the level they're at now.
In a big conference, heisman candidate qb, top ten rank and now a nationally recognized program.

I think most of their current success is because of petrino. love him or hate him i think he's one of the top coaches in football.
His fame and talent will lead him to someplace bigger and better. jmo

Yea and if any of UofSmell coaches and any morals you wouldn't have them paying for hookers for recruits and abortion's( oh I am sorry that was money for health insurance wasn't it Rick) or wrecking their motorcycle with the girl he is having an affair with on the back. Bottom line UofSmell turns a blind eye as long as your wining. You know Pitrino is just slobbering at the mouth hopping to get a call from LSU or Texas and when it happens he is out as fast as he can go !! Stoops has taken longer than I had hoped to get it
Respectable ,but this program was absolutely one of the worst jobs in the country after Joker left it the shape he did !!

the games both Basketball and Football are/were mandated by the Legislators (sort of), what we need is to continue getting better. Basketball was ordered first, Football was in the works with the Legislators and UK said "that the ____" and just made it happen, if my memory serves me correctly. So there's no getting rid of it, get better and gets some wins or get used to taking our medicine (Like they do in Basketball)!!!

Who would pay to watch four bad OOC teams and four SEC games with two of them including USCjr, and Vandy one year and Missouri one of the four in the other year? People are not going to pay to watch only two teams with any type of tradition.

Years in which Louisville is just average I would think our OOC schedule is as weak as anyone in the country.

The time to leave them hanging was after we beat them 4 years in a row not now. Plus losing games that we should have won, including some ul games, have cost us bowl games.

I'd take them off schedule now after hooker U, and that basketball situation. What an embarrassment to the state, what an embarrassment to say that school is from KY. I wouldn't acknowledge their existence. We can find someone else better to schedule. Just to schedule that game because the fans want it give me a break, thier low class, and we should never deal with low class. Remove them from all sports!

Not going to happen. Like if or not, UL is playing at an elite level.

It's going to be a legit sellout at Commonwealth every other year. Those are getting harder to come by.

Situated at the end of the schedule, it is now set up like a Bowl game itself.

As we improve, it could actually become an important stepping stone to achieve a greater Bowl. Personally, I'd rather think that way than to think we will shoot for 6 wins per season in perpetuity.

At this stage U of L's success really doesn't depend on playing UK. The Cards are talking CFP and the Cats are always talking 6 wins to get to a bowl. A big contrast in goals. U of L could lose every season in BB to UK but still have an opportunity to win the NCAA tournament. Continuing to lose to U of L in FB affects your bowl standing as well as any possibility of reaching the CFP.

UK should beat them, then drop them.

Just my opinion.

I think the OP makes a good point.
I agree, sort of. We can drop them if and when we take about 6-8 straight wins off them. The Catch-22 is that once there, who cares... just keep them pinned. We can never be seen as retreating. Ultimately, it is a silly proposition.

Your poor sentence structuring and blatant misuse of then/than makes me feel better about my Cat fanhood.

Thanks for the pick me up.
OT. Why do so many people misuse then/than? Another grammar problem that must not be taught anymore.
