Your basketball team will probably get a slap on the risk, unless they begin to check to see why all these players are coming to UL from Florida... I mean, in the hay for play, for the football players too...
Who knows.. Will the NCAA be checking into the football program to see if UL lost all control over the athletic department? Are they checking at all into the football program? Not joking, serious question...
Well, after his last post I'm now sure Gary is trolling....no one could possibly believe the things he just said....I'm going to enjoy all 3 major sports and continue to cheer on the Cards....I like our football future better than yours....
If you go by recruiting stars then yes UK has out recruited iUofL n most year and you know what that means ? Not a damn thing, because even with supppsiedly better classes you still have not beat UofL on the field in 5 years.
Now I know you probably don't watch UofL games but if you did you would know that Petrino and the boys have been mixing in the guys who will be playing next year to give them reps and no it hasn't been only during garabage time.

I believe if you would go back an re-rank the recruiting classes after the fact you would find Louisville's recruiting classes to be much better. You are basically taking the star value of a player that was set by people who work for the recruiting services as gospel. Most of the time it's simpler for the recruiting services to rank high 4 star and 5 star players, but it becomes infinitely more difficult to rate players at the lower 4 star and 3 star level.The recruiting services do a very good job given the circumstances, but they aren't going to evaluate talent or position needs better than Petrino and his staff.
Also recruiting class rankings are skewed by the number of players taken. Right now UofL's class is ranked 20th by rivals with 22 players listed, while UK is ranked 39th with 14 players listed. However, the total star rating average of the players is very close. Is that truly an accurate ranking system that will show the level on talent on a team in a given year?
4 star Drew Barker was rated a whole lot higher than 3 start Lamar Jackson. Patrick Towles was rated the same as Teddy Bridgewater coming out of high school. Matt Elam was rated way higher than Jaire Alexander.
Everyone knows Petrino is an offensive genius, but history also shows he finds NFL talent in 3 star and sometimes even 2 star players. He and his staff are consistently able to go down south to Florida, Alabama, and Georgia and pick off 3 star players that are vastly underrated by the recruiting services or over looked by Bama and Florida. Even if these players don't make it to the NFL, they fit his system, can be coached up, and almost always have great speed.
That said, Petrino is about to sign the highest rated class ever at UofL, but you say UofL is going to fall off? We may or may not be ranked in the top 5 in the middle of the season next year, but I seriously doubt you'll find UofL anywhere outside the top 15-20 anytime soon. The stadium is expanding, recruiting is improving, national exposure is improving. Plus, as far as next year is concerned, Lamar is going to have another off season with Petrino to really learn how to play. Remember he's only started 14 games so far in his short career. If Lamar stays healthy the Heisman trophy is going to UofL...do you think that will help improve recruiting?
UofL football is improving in every area and nothing says otherwise except wishful thinking and tinted glasses.

No matter the rankings, it is a rival game and usually is played close one way or another.....I'll take my chances for a winn against the tards!
Gary are you trying to play poker ? Holding a pair of 3's pretending like you got a full house ? Never have a read so much garbage. You know what us getting better next year and Louisville falling off next year means ? It will be a helluva lot closer and contested game than we have been able to give them recently. Maybe you should go back to my post where I placed all the stats of those leaving, and who was leaving... That took a long time to make that post.. It's accurate but these birds just can't seem to get it in their heads that losing 33 seniors will hurt them this year...
I'd like to see UaVel off the schedule in all sports. Their athletic department is a **** stain on the state of Kentucky and college athletics in general. That's not even debatable.
Gary is either including walkons, or he looked at something wrong...he keeps saying it even though other people have told him he is wrong....that should tell everyone something...
He must also be counting the dance and cheerleading teams, because our roster shows 20 seniors, 19 if you do not include Traveon Young.
He also lists 17 transfers (including JUCOs) as some kind of slam, when UK has 14.
In short, it's all pretty odd.

Now for something really good about them, they have 24 red shirts, but they lose 33 seniors this year... Why does UL do so good when we out recruit them, try 17 transfers!!! I hate UT but I'll give them props for gutsy OOC scheduling. UCLA in the late 90s, Miami U during the Santana Moss era, Oregon, Oklahoma etc. even if they get blitzed, it shows moxy and a helluva better way than the ACC lite route.

MacCard...you're correct. Louisville has a Total of 20 Seniors Period-(19 since Young is taking a Medical Redshirt). Here again is the official link to the actual official roster from the University of Louisville. Must be counting Walkon, Student Trainers etc...etc

Now in the Two Deep on the Offensive Line...7 out of 10 are Projected to be returning including 3 current starters. On the 6 man rotation on the DL 5 out of 6 are projected to be returning-(NT DeAngelo Brown is departing). The projected Inside LB 3 out of 4 in the 2 deep are returning, Kelsey is gone. At the Outside Edge Rusher 3 out of 4 in this year Two Deep are projected to be returning-(not counting Young who is currently injured)....Only Fields is a Senior. At DB out of the Two Deep 7 out of 8 are returning in 2017-(JHC is gone but I could see Shaq Wiggins wanting to leave)...at QB, No need to say anymore...only the Best College Football Player in the Nation...it is what it is...

As far as being a troll, well I am far from a troll as I have been a mod/admin on one of the UofL boards for over 10 years. So I know what it is like when mods have to deal with trolls so I try to choose my words wisely when posting on another site.
Just wear that report button out on them. I keep doing it, and leave the mods a pretty scathing message to go with it LOL. The sad part is, they will probably ban me for it, but let them stick around. This is twice he's brought up UK's probation in the 70's, and talked trash about UT and Florida's streaks against us.
