I thought for sure about 5 weeks ago UL was going to hang 70+ on us. NOT SO FAST MY FELLOW CATS!! We will be able to keep Lamar on the bench and control the tempo if we can get our run going. I dont see many teams, stopping our run maybe UGA AND TENN can contain it but I dont believe UL can. Its getting interesting coming down the stretch!!

Then SJ NEEDS to hit Conrad in the seam!!!!!

No telling how many yards and TDs we are missing with that play.

Conrad could be an Eiffert he is open every time on that play action.

Would open the box for runs and free up edge support for wr's.

Great point

Very true. He still zones in too long on a receiver, which is why he gets his pass knocked down at the los.

This team is picking up steam. The schedule is playing out perfectly.
If we can stay healthy and beat UGA we are going to go down to Knoxville and give them pure hell. You now it and so does everyone else associated with UK.

He overthrows on that play as well.

Just can't hit that big boy.

Fumbles and TE passes - JS takes care of those and he'll really gain some confidence.

Yeah I think he is trying to commensate getting his passes knocked down by throwing his passes too high. Hopefully Gran can roll him out where the defense can't flood the passing lanes.

Ware probably had a good point about how low he holds the ball prior to release.

Regretfully it's probably one of those things you can't mess with at this point in time in the season.

That's why I would suggest rolling him out to clear his passing lanes.

I've noticed when they roll him out his accuracy drops a lot. I think it's all footwork. When his feet are set he usually throws a good ball. He doesn't throw it well on the move but that's not easy as it seems either. I like the kid... more than serviceable qb. When he makes mistakes he forgets them and makes plays!

They spoke to this during the game yesterday. He holds the ball low and when he sets to throw his release point isn't parallel it's slightly up. If he can learn to keep the ball and his arms up it would help with his release and he would be more accurate.

I'm sure the coaches are thinking the same thing.
I'd be surprised if those scud passes aren't corrected by next week...

Cats have a good running attack but UL has been good against the run this year. The Virginia game was close because they ran a punt back to the red zone a UL fumble on its own 30.

If they stack 8 in the box, we should be able to get to the edge, for some big gains.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

I thought the same thing and figured that is how we would attack Missouri. After watching the game and reflecting on the season thus far, I think that way of thinking is flawed. This offensive line is really good! They aren't coached for the drag run play and the blocking required for that. It's evident now that they are coached to get off the ball and hit you in the damn mouth. Sure they do some pulls but for the most part they just line up and play straight ahead. That isn't a knock on them by any means, in fact the opposite.
I think those offenses that do lots of the edge rushing do so to cover up undersized weaker lines. They may be quicker but they don't have the strength to block for between the tackle runs.

You hit the nail right on the head.... If they play 8 in the box, there is an obvious advantage to our receivers. Man on man coverage favors receivers 9 out of 10 times. You bring up an excellent point with Conrad/Eifert comparison. S.Johnson has had numerous times he could have had Conrad right down the middle for a huge gain but threw too high, or behind him. We are going to have to correct that kind of thing if we are to deal with the stacked boxes! GO CATS!
