WC is about to be 8A, so they better win it this year, because 8a is going to be tough.

From what I’ve seen 7A has more of the heavy hitters. It would still be hard to win regardless, especially when Hough is in your classification.
Up to this point last year Hickory gave up 296 points and this year so far they gave up 171
Dudley last year gave up 146 at this point and this year so far they gave up 22. Big difference in defense from last year to this year.

Their defense is smaller and faster this year. Crest definitely exposed a weakness on the right side of the defense last week.
Think WC has similar or better runs in 8A. If its just 32 teams throughout the entire state its just 16 on their side. Besides Hough no one really stands out. 7A could be much tougher IMHO.
Crest didn’t expose them. If you’ve watched them all year their defense was never good. They ran the score up on teams so nobody really cared to mention it.
I only saw them kill us 1st game of season and Statesville last week. It maybe the level of competition I've seen them play but I feel like their defense is a little better than last year.
I want to see Dudley win this and eventually the state. I like the toughness those young men have and the way they go about business. I think they are in for a battle, and this may be an instant classic but my heart says we have not seen WC’s full potential and this is the game we will see it.

WC is on the rise. We'll be competitive regardless of classification.
8A isn't going to be more competitive than 7A and 6A. Which I believe will be the best two classifications
@New3ra not sure where/why all the rumors of WC losing guys to Hough is coming from but I've heard it too many times for there not to be something going on. The WC staff is getting guys into college and noticed early. It would be a shame for guys to leave as WC will be incredibly good next couple years.
What Hough does is incredible to say the least. They've got guys from all over the state on their roster. They recruit the portal and MS very well..They try and get folks in as 9th graders to avoid the scrutiny. It's amazing the talent they get in as transfers/residency moves....... Bailey middle is 75% suburban and their football team is bad. But Hough football is somehow 80% urban and dominate. Just amazing how those guys just show up......

I bet Dudley must be in shock. They haven’t given up that many points all year
Mentioned it earlier. This WC team is special. They are business like. Sans Hough they have been very good in every game. No jinx but knew they would beat Dudley. They play elite defense and have a QB. Past two years they have had an athlete at QB. This year they have a legit throwing QB, and legit D1 receivers.

Kings Mt. beat Crest, 24-23......Robinson beat Kings Mt, 41-14....Dudley beat Robinson, 20-6.....go figure.
I guess so but all these people have been talking about how huge they are all year and how they’re out for vengeance and they’re the best team in 3A by far etc etc. this is a shocking score. Not to lose, but to be getting dominated
