Hickory is a great team, but their due for a loss. West Charlotte has been playing really good the last few games. Any thoughts?

I am biased and I'm going to take Hickory, but refrain from a score. Hickory better improve their run defense or they're gonna have problems.
They better find a defense before next Friday or it's going to get ugly early. I'm actually feeling a West Charlotte shut out against HKY. They just don't have the athletes we have. I'm standing on that!

Ok.......I'll leave it at that. HKY DOES NOT have the athletes that WC has......PERIOD. There's a reason the are currently 12 Charlotte boys playing in the NFL.

. It's the most populated city in the state so of course there is gonna be better odds of more kids making it to the pros 
West Charlotte may win but Hickorys offense is no joke. It will be alot better than what you seen tonight.

They aren't understanding what's being done around here. The boys in the CLT are HUNGRY!!!! They are doing all that they can to get to the next level. This is not about Friday night for them, it's about the rest of their lives.
Hickory’s QB is too good and he will actually hit his wide receivers. Dudley’s quarterbacks aren’t good and they barely got it to their wide receivers. When they tried #0 for the first time in the first half he scored. West Charlotte has to get pressure on Stober or he’ll make you pay.
One thing I will say about North Lincoln. They played lights out and probably the best game they played all season. They made it to 4th rd for a reason. They are good. They were ready for Hickory. I felt Hickory wasn’t their normal self and uncharacteristic at times. Now having said that I agree Hickory defense is a concern. They have the offense to win but the defense has to step up. I believe Hickory will have to win in a shootout which might be a tall task against West Charlotte.

They will. I'm 100% sure of that. Hickory hasn't played anyone with what WC has. Y'all can remain delusional if you want to. They're going to make a believer out off you. Mark my words!
Hickory has a great offense no doubt. Erwin had a great offense, Dudley had a great offense. Folks are underrating WC defense. HS football is year to year. WC defense is elite while Hickory has no shut outs and has given up 49points last two weeks against good offensive comp. That's alarming. WC offense will be elite vs. Hickory just as it was elite vs. Dudley.

I believe in the coaching staff at West Charlotte. It’ll be a game of adjustments but they can get it done. I may be on my way to Hickory next week for this one.
When i saw WC play NM I knew then they would challenge for the state. imma be quiet and humble but again this WC team is different. They are buttoned up and their offense makes sense and their defense is elite elite. In games between two great teams gimme the team that plays defense at a high level.
This is all I'm trying to get these other posters to realize. This year's WC team is not the same as the 2023 or 2022. That's from coordinators down as well as some behind the scene resources.

I picked West Charlotte to win last night. I'm just saying Hickory has an elite level QB that will be playing at the FCS level. I just can't see a shutout.
Hickory offense is very very good, their defense has more holes than swiss cheese.
WC should be able to run on Hickory. That will open up the airways for WC. The other problem Hickory has is stopping the WC pass rush. WC brings pressure from everywhere yet stopping the ground game at the same time. I would love to see Hickory win another ship but I don't see them handling WC.

I pull for Hickory but watching the WC games on demand...I really don't see Hickory pulling this one out...shutout,no but 2 to 3 td win possible...that defense of Hickory has gone to the can the last 2 weeks....
You are talking about the defending state champs who are currently on a 30 game winning streak, one of the longest in NC history, who average 50 ppg and they’re at home. West Charlotte may very well win, but to say you’re gonna shut them out is laughable
Is it possible that the reason hickory’s defense looks so terrible is because when your offense is scoring 50ppg it gives the opposing offense 10-11 possessions a game to score back? I suppose their defense could suck, but I doubt it actually is really bad, it’s likely just their offense gives them no rest. The opposite of a ground and pound that chews up clock
No, Hickory does a great job on offense of utilizing the clock. The defense just isn’t very good.
Yea I suppose when you’re a defensive coordinator going into a game thinking “let’s just hold them to under 50 and we are good”, that’s a good feeling lol
I agree with your evaluation....need to have 2 defensive lineups so one isnt always out there...Like when NL had a long grueling drive and Little returned the ball to the house...Hickorys D had to go right back out...
What you said here make no sense. The defense is H2O. It's the defense allowing scores which then puts their offense back on the field to score.
Saying you’re gonna shut out hickory makes no sense either
