West Henderson at East Lincoln: Not sure how good West Henderson is, but I can't imagine them being better than East Lincoln...Mustangs by 20

West Iredell at Pisgah: The Warriors by 7

Montgomery Central at Hickory: The MC Timberwolves at Hickory will probably end the season for them…Red Tornadoes by 18

Foard at Newton-Conover: Red Devils just too fast…NC by 12

North Surry at Maiden: The Greyhounds are matched up against someone who might play for the 4A title…Blue Devils by 14.

Hendersonville at Lincolnton: a good matchup…Wolves by 10.

Bandys at Cramer: Don’t honestly know how this will turnout, but I’ll go with the conference and pick the Storm by 7, in Flyrod’s game 0f the week.

Postscript: On a positive note for the North Surry Greyhounds, they aren’t going to have to concern themselves with the Maiden Creek Men’s Christian Outreach, standing behind the end zone like they did the last time NS played Maiden, in 2015, at Bandys High School. This time it’s at the new Thomas Brown stadium, which is laid out in such a way as to preclude them from congregating, fellowshipping and ultimately counseling with players and fans of visiting teams.

Side Note: Usually, I try to put a little more into the weekly picks, meaning I babble like an idiot (Makes me sound like Prince Myshkin), but it’s been a raw, cold day, it’s late, and I’m too tired to (Try saying that 3 times real fast)… Goodnight Gentlemen…Remember “When the moon hits your eye at 4:45 that’s November.

What does this matchup have to do with the WFAC 2nd round?
LOL I did an extra pick ems on a separate colum. only for teams close by this conference area with even matched games and he saw the Statesville Ashbrook matchup and figured that was not exactly an even match up. Not much or anything to do with this conference at hand, your right, I just did that for me and he was the only one somewhat participating. Everyone else saw my post and prob thought ( and eye rolled too) “yeah good games but off subject alittle, I’m not interested” which is cool it’s just for fun anyway like anything else. Kinda goes along with when I was a week behind a few years back and someone picked some out of conference matchups in area for me to get caught up which was thoughtful and cool so playoff time I threw a few other games in to see who might pick winners of those but those won’t count for this conference tally.

How balanced is Bandy's offense? If they can't sustain a running game I don't think they will be able to beat SC with throwing the ball alone. They will need to be balanced to keep SC's aggressive D honest.
The Trojans threw for over 350 and rushed for a little over 100 in losses to East Lincoln and Hickory….just to give you an idea of what they might do against a stellar team like the Storm!

I love the spot for Stuart Cramer. Everyone thinks they are a joke and it's comical. People talk about the Lincolnton game and the Wolves being without playmakers.... the game wasn't close. Other than when L-Town drove the field on the opening drive and lead 7-0 it wasn't close. They've played who was on their schedule and won the games the way they should have been won.

Spotted Shelby a (3) touchdown lead and fought back to tie it in the 3rd quarter and played Burns close until the 4th. Win or lose I think Bandy's will respect them when they roll out of Cramerton Friday night.

You know how it is, teams that come out of nowhere get no respect. They wasn't on my radar this year till they beat Linconton.

I haven’t seen anyone disrespect Cramer. No one thinks they are a joke. I’m sure Bandys already respects them. It’s a 50/50 game.

Our game with them was also 14-14 at one point. But they did blow us out in the end. Wish we could play them again.

Not everyone….especially me…I’m still shocked that the Storm hung a goose egg on West Lincoln…at their place too. 😵💫

That probably doesn’t mean a thing to you or the others…but it speaks volumes to me.

No one in our conference thinks SC is a joke. Trust me we're aware of how good you are. Don't be fooled by our love for our own conference...at the same time, you can't be in year 1 of building something great and expect a ton of respect and fawning over 3 months of good football.

Cramer is a dang good team and has all the pieces to run deep.

Happy Veterans Day to my forum people. Army vet here, Iraq 03-04. Sound off if your a vet and thank you in advance for your service
Did you mob at Ft. Stewart in 2003 by any chance? They sent thousands of us down there a month or so before the war started and some of us were supposed to go support the invasion of Iraq from Turkey. God, that was a cluster. The barracks were decent, but hadn't been used by units for more than a few days for decades and needed some work. They had to bus us across the fort to the DIVARTY chow hall twice a day. We made the pizza and Chinese restaurants who delivered rich while we were there. They told us we'd only be there for a few weeks, which turned into two months. Then it was off to Kuwait in April, where they put thousands of us in warehouses, sleeping on cots. Then when we did get to Iraq, we learned that the Air Force had a berm around their part of the base just to keep us out of their chow hall.
Oh man, I had a pretty good time in the desert, but getting there was also an adventure.

I did not mob at Stewart. My captain had a connection so we got to mob out of Bragg. Started 2 months like you and left in April 2003 for Kuwait. Stayed at Camp Victory til our trucks came in then we started running missions from there til June then moved up to Camp Speicher Iraq close to Tikrit. Left I. July 2004 to come home. Shot at mortared, didn’t encounter too much there. Lord was good to me and let me come home. Thank you for your service. Were were you guys and what did yall do and stationed at?

I was in a medical company. As I said we were supposed to support the invasion from Turkey and we packed up all our gear and sent it off within days of arriving at Stewart, Then the Turks essentially said no, so we had no gear, no vehicles and nothing to train with. We spent two months trying to figure out how to pass the time, which meant things like doing land nav courses without maps or compasses using roads for terrain association. In April they decided to send us to theater, and we had to wait for all our stuff to be rerouted back to Kuwait. While we waited, we got parceled out, which meant some of us went to the Kuwaiti Naval Base, some of us went to Qatar and then some of us went to Camp Cedar II (which was beside MSR Tampa near An Nasiriyah). I went there first and then on to Qatar. It was only just sick call every day, easy duty. But that was just the first of four tours in Iraq/Kuwait for me. I transferred to another state and kept getting promoted. Only the slots were open because the unit was mobilizing and the guy who'd held it had retired. That worked out okay for me, like I said I mostly had fun overseas, but things were chaos for a long time. I'm getting my pension check now though, so it all worked out.
