Haa to play for the home run ball in that situation. He has really disappointed e this year. Can't remember a single not this year and not many passes broken up. Thought he looked very good last year but has not beeen all that great this year.

Great win, I'm extremely happy winning on the road, but disappointed in we always allow the other team easy scores when we get ahead, it's something that's been going on for 50 years here. Kentucky can't relax against any team. They have got to stay focused on putting teams away, one of those long passes is enough and today we give up two when ahead and let them get back in it. I imagine the db's have been told a thousand times DO NOT LET ANYBODY BEHIND YOU, and it still happens. Hope we can work that out.

Corners get beat. Toughest position. And one thing I learned from playing the position is sometimes it looks like your man but wasn't

Cover 2man for example .. though I don't know about this particular play what formation they were in

The thing that concerns me is there were numerous plays where he didn't want to tackle.

He needs to move to FS next year. Doesn't have the speed or flexibility to be a CB in the SEC.
That might not be such a bad idea...I've never been a huge fan of Westry at CB as he needs to give up cushion. And if Griffin and the plethora of DBs can provide more physical coverage...may not be a bad idea.

It was a perfectly thrown pass caught in stride. Unless the corner has safety help that will happen most every time the pass is thrown that well.

Agree. Also, Harmon is a better big play man.

Hard to complain about anything today. It was about as complete an effort as you can expect on the road in the SEC.

But as to this thread, Westry has had a really bad year, or at least a bad year in terms of what was expected.

Westry lazy and weak...surely we have better players
I had to find "show ignored content" to find your idiotic post. I didn't mind the OP post, which is fair criticism. You are an idiot and you should be banned from this board forthwith. Do you think it really helps out recruiting to pop off like this against one of our best players, and probably our top NFL prospect on the defense? Get thee back to Rafters.

Starting from day one without getting any help from more experienced older d-backs can hurt your growth no matter how good you are. I think it shows especially when they have a tendency to let up in certain situations. Hopefully these guys will be able to teach the new recruits the things that they had to learn the hard way. Just like the bowl experience, none of our players will know this and it will be a first time experience if we go. And if we do go, this experience can be passed down to the new recruits as we go to more bowls in the future. Plus it has to be a real learning experience for our staff too.

A couple things. First, I agree with your disdain for the idiot that criticized Westry. Second, why would you ever look at "ignored content?" People like you that always threaten to ignore people irritate the hell out of me. You are obviously someone that says they will ignore someone, but doesn't have the fortitude to do it. Third, anyone that calls for people to be banned is a ***** in my view. Fourth, when anyone says that this board affects recruiting, I know they are one of the crazy ones that tweets recruits and expects that someone other than crazy fans pay attention to us talking. Finally, people that try to create a divide between UK fans over football vs. basketball need to go somewhere else. We are all part of BBN..

If you are going to open with "a couple things", you should limit your response to a couple things- you exceeded the scope of your opening statement by making five points instead of two. I could respond point by point, but, instead, I'll just get off of your lawn, old man. By the way, you're blocked and I do have the fortitude to do it. Adios, you preposterous old goat.

Always something to f'n ***** about! I swear some of you people are too much. Probably complain getting a lap dance from a "10". "Would have been great, but I didn't like the song she was dancing to."

If all you are going to do is constantly *****, maybe you need to go get some professional help for that depression that has taken over every aspect of your life.

Corners cant be lazy, especially when left on islands 70% of the time. They must run full speed every play.

You simply do not know the game. That is ok.

Calling players out because you do not know the game, that's not ok.

Stoops mentioned in the post game that Wesley used bad technique on the long ball late in the game. It happens even to the best from time to time. Hell I've seen Tabor get abused a couple times and he's the best cover corner in college.

I blame the coaches for that. I called it when I saw us going through the motions on offense. We were trying to get the hell out of dodge. Stoops is still learning.

Westry has not been bad at all. He's not been as good as we would have hoped. To me this looks more like the old sophomore jinx than Westry just not getting it done. He's still one of our top players and unquestionably should continue to be the starting corner. He's been beat a few times but it's nothing like what we saw a couple years ago at the position. In most cases he nails down the spot. He just needs to cut down on the lapses.

No reason to crush you. Your views vs those of a qualified coach...who you think people with half a brain are going to listen to?

I've watched every game and most more than once to pick up on details. Again, not knocking you, I just prefer to listen to someone that is actually qualified to speak on the matter. Not someone who got ran off from rafters.

And someone who has been nothing but negative all season. He can't complain about a coach, so has to find something else.

I've been trying to think of something he couldn't possibly complain about but keep coming up empty. Come to think of it, that could be a classic thread. "Perfect things that Ulismyman still complains about."

They need to rotate the corners even more than they do. I believe Coach was saying he got too high in his back pedal which led to him being in a recovery situation, and Lock deciding to spin it to the fade. It was the 4th, and at 6'4" he works damn hard not giving up that route in the first 3 qtrs of the game. It is harder for him to get down and back pedal at speed than some guy 5'10". They might need to consider putting him on a play count. Also, he has been dinged without much explanation of the nature of the injury.

He is inconsistent in his tackling, but I am not sure I would describe him as weak or timid. At his height he experiences more difficulty in open field tackling, and I think at times he is just trying to maintain leverage on the ball carrier until help arrives. Shorter, more agile receivers and backs can give him a lot of trouble in open field.

Just went through this with my sons team. "Don't let anyone behind you". Next play, over the top TD...darn 8 year olds!!!
It's like I should say the opposite sometimes...hmmmm
