I understand all the comments and several who disagree with my opinion. However, it seems to me that Westry consistently gives up more cushion, tackles less and breaks up fewer passes than Baity, Harmon, Edwards, etc. I'm not saying he shouldn't start. I'm just saying that he looked REALLY good last year as a Freshman and this year he has not looked as good as he did last year, much less improved. If he's dinged up, then that may explain much of it. But, from my observation of the games, he's underperformed expectations that he himself generated by his overall very good play from last year.

And, no excuse for giving up a bomb in that situation. Bad technique, tired, dinged up, perfect pass, no safety help - whatever. No excuse. Only way they're gonna have a chance to win the game is to score very quickly so you absolutely cannot let someone behind you. Westry was running right with the guy but didn't bat the ball down and let the guy get behind him. Very poor play on his part.

Obviously, the defense played very well for much of the game. Just wish they'd kept as focused the last 6 minutes so the game never got as close as it did. They pretty much squashed MO for most of the game and then give up 2 TDs in 11 seconds?! Can't let that happen.

One reason he gives up more cushion is he is a boundary corner. Which means he has less field to cover. But also means he usually don't have safety help if we bring an extra to blitz or help with run suppirt
