I'm not up to speed with the total roster. I know we don't have many Sr's, but what DL are redshirting this year?

So far we've been fortunate to not have many injuries. We're thin at the moment on the dline. Curious what the depth looks like next year. (Not counting potential recruits.)

Its huge that we have maintained those boys redshirts. I really like looneys upside. Cross is a kid who looked alot better on film than his rating so we shall see how he develops.

They have Middleton, Elam, Pringle and Dubose returning next year and have redshirted Looney and Cross. They have signed Bohanna and Hoskins so they should have a nice rotation next year.

Will Elam move from the nose to defensive tackle or end next year? He just can't get low enough for the nose.

DL recruiting is the next step for Stoops. (I know every SEC coach says the same thing.)

Developing this position is key to taking another step forward. Fortunately, this is Stoops' strength as a coach.

Thx for info.

He doesn't have the speed to play end. The only hope for Elam (to be more than a spot role player) is to realize he's been passed up and that he's missed a chance to play at the next level.

He appears to be a great kid who's having a good time. The competitive fire doesn't seem to be there. I'm hoping the competitive juices kick in and cause him to push himself like never before.

i hope Stoops can convince Elam and Hyde to move to O-Line specifically guard, thats their best chance to contribute meaningful minutes and maybe have a shot at the pros. Both are too slow and not strong enough to make up for their speed and smart deficiencies to play defense.

while i kinda like the idea as a fan musing... it might be a little late in the game for this? neither has played O-line side don't think... but my guess is they will play where CMS thinks they can contribute the best...

I think they should convince Elam to redshirt next year. We should have enough bodies now to do so, and he could definitely use one. Concentrate solely on fitness and technique.
