Last I heard, $575,000 to sit in a booth, that was a while ago so maybe more by now.I dont think Stoops will fire him.
I'd say that he will find another DC gig at a smaller school. Stoops won't fire him but he won't demote him either and you can't pay a DC in name only that kind of salary. Stoops needs to keep calling the D. Bo Pilini would be a great addition. How much does he make as HC at YSU?

There's A LOT more to being a DC than just play calling...I'd say that he will find another DC gig at a smaller school. Yep, and???There's A LOT more to being a DC than just play calling...
Think it makes sense that U.K. needs to get some help at DC where Stoops won't have to take over
Winning cures a lot of ills but there is a systemic problem if Stoops is having to do it himself
Thank you. Seems like we could offer him a little more money to be a Co-DC or something to get him on staff. He's coached LBs before in the NFL. So he could just slide in Eliot's position group. Either way I think that Eliot leaves after this season "on his own" to save his rep. That way Stoops doesn't have to fire or demote him.
This.Keep him on same role he is in now. These guys know each other and the system very well we are trying to run. Why would you want him to leave and bring in someone new in that spot who isn't as familiar with what we are trying to do.
Gameplanning is a huge part of what we are doing. Elliott knows stoops system as well as coach stoops does. I'm sure he has a big role in that aspect. Also seeing what he sees and relaying that to coach helps ESP knowing the system as well as he does. Keep him right where we are now.
Most small business have this issues at some point. Seems like Stoops is starting to get around the corner on direction, leadership and overall head coaching. He has gotten completely around it; but I'm hopefulThink it makes sense that U.K. needs to get some help at DC where Stoops won't have to take over

Two things: Bo is a huge personality and can easily ruffle feathers. Would be a bad move bringing him on board.Thank you. Yeah it is working now but that was my guess for after the season. Coaches have big egos and he may still want to try to call ball plays. So that factored into my guess about him getting another DC gig at a smaller school. He may decide it's not for him and stay with it but you can't keep giving him coordinator money when he is more of a Co-DC now.Two things: Bo is a huge personality and can easily ruffle feathers. Second, why mess up what's currently working, which is Stoops doing the game planning and play calling with Eliot in the booth? Our defense has completely turned around as a result of this new set up - there is no need to mess with it.
Why not. We have had a passing game cordnator, head coach of the offense, etc. the system we are running both of these guys are familiar with it. Who cares what the title is, why change. Stoops is running what he wants (he is the head coach btw). Why bring in someone else that wants to run "their" stuff. Look at mizzu!Yeah it is working now but that was my guess for after the season. Why change for next season, what worked for this season? I don't have any inside info but I'd be highly surprised if anything happens to Eliot.Yeah it is working now but that was my guess for after the season. Like I said Eliot may want to call plays. He may go on his own. I think he is a good position coach, and the situation is working now but going forward after the season who knows. He may want to stay and likes it the way it is. He needs to pick it up recruiting wise. Just a guess on my part and if he did leave Pelini would be a solid hire. Not really advocating just answering he original question with a WAG.Why change for next season, what worked for this season? You don't let go of coaches when things are going well.
That's possible (him leaving on his own) - but he'd most likely take a pay cut to do that. My guess is that as long as he has Stoops' support, he will be here. They are good friends and that plays into loyalty, etc.Like I said Eliot may want to call plays. He may go on his own. I hope there's a pay cut then if that's really his salarie.Last I heard, $575,000 to sit in a booth, that was a while ago so maybe more by now.

So, If they were spending twice that on a new DC for the same results, you'd be okay with it?I hope there's a pay cut then if that's really his salarie.

Why would Nebraska pay Elliot? Not going to count the money that Nebraska is paying him?
