What if they combine two classes for districts?

I think the district mess would clear up a little bit if they combine two classes. 8a/7a, 6a/5a etc. This will give them more wiggle room to get rid of the insane bus trips. You can still seed out 8 divisions and have 8 state champs, but it will keep teams off the roads and fans in the stands. While keeping the school sizes close. Just a thought.

This makes sense but the problem will be some of the massive enrollment disparities since the bottom of 7A is around 1700 students and many 8A schools have well over 1000 kids more then that.

There are so many ways to picks holes in this whole district set up since I don’t think it was very well thought out but I guess we will just have to wait and see.

On paper that works, but in the real world existing conferences straddle every class line: 1A/2A, 2A/3A, 3A/4A, etc...However it is broken down will create issues...

All.... The same for 5A/6A. SHG's real enrollment was 648 students and the largest 6A playoff qualifier this season had 1792.00 students. That type of disparity tends to get old after four seasons. Ratsy

Go back to 6 classes.

It’s funny this whole thing can be traced back to that. Going to 8 classes was supposed to make it easier to schedule games but it just lowered the bar so people tried find a conference that could get them 5 wins. Plus with 6 classes you don’t need the multiplier since the public’s balance out the private’s.

SHG enrollment- 1069
Washington enrollment- 1340

Not a huge disparity, if not happy with results, recruit better.

What school near SHG has the enrollment of 1792? SHG is in 6A anyway, so they would play the 6A teams in there Districts anyway.
