Don't put the cart before the horse!
We aren't there yet and recent history has shown us that it's not a lock for a bowl with 4/5 wins

Best bet would be Liberty. Maybe Belk or Music City.have to have a pretty heavy duty finish to go Chikfila,, Outback level.

We will have to win at least 8 games to go to a bowl like Outback. I am hoping for a bowl in a warm climate.

Go Big Blue!

We went to the outback with couch in 99 with 7 wins. Of course only an 11 game season at that time too.

I'm optimistic, but if we lose Saturday, we probably aren't going to ANY bowl!

I'm gonna wait till Saturday night to even speculate because I'm scared that I'll jinx us.

After the past 2 years, I'm gun shy!!

I have been burned two straight years. So I am not saying anything until we beat Mizzou this weekend. Win that game and we can start talking or speculating. But we "ain't won it yet" and if our team goes into the game counting chickens before they hatch like some of our fans. We lose.

Me too,we are in a good spot, but we were the last two years as well.Let's close the deal. This time it feels a little different(probably because of who is left to play and how they are playing) because the team is on an upswing and it is almost Nov.We can get this one but it still has to be done before we get too excited.

Outback Bowl has taken some 7 win SEC teams through the years. Here are the most recent:

2010 Florida
2009 Auburn (they were 3-5 in the league that year)
2008 South Carolina

There are a ton of factors in what our ceiling is, first is obviously winning football games.

Since I refuse to quit on the thought that UK will win the SEC, I'll say Sugar .

If UK finishes 7-5, maybe the Outback??? Or Music City. At 6-6, maybe the Belk.

GBB!!!
PUHLEEEZZZE Let it be the Belk or Music City - I do not want to go to Birmingham - Charlotte / Nashville is better! Doubt we get to the Outback with 7-5 West will get that slot

I think we'll be in Birmingham if we go. I'm still holding my breath since we were all but to a bowl the last 2 years and couldn't seal the deal.

After this past Saturday night, I think that our team has finally gotten over the hump mentally.

I kinda expect us to come out this Saturday with a new determination and confidence!

I'll still wait till AFTER the game to predict any bowls though.

It's unlikely to be Birmingham or Shreveport, because those are the two lowest priority bowls and the SEC probably won't even have enough 6 win teams for either. I've read that Ole Miss might self-ban this year also. Realistically, unless we shock the world by winning against Tennessee, it's probably Charlotte, Nashville, or, best case, Jacksonville. Houston or Memphis would be our level but I think that they'll be inclined to take a West team.

IF we could win 7 and that is a long shot, we would most likely tie Auburn for 5th place or come in behind them in 6th place overall in the SEC with a 5-3 record. The Citris is considered the 5th best bowl and Taxslayer the 6th. This is not set in stone as the conference will ultimately choose who goes where and proximity can play a part.

If we finish 6-6, we will be in the Music City, Liberty or Belk, depending on how Ole MIss, LSU and Georgia finish in the conference.

Bama is a lock for the Peach
Texas A&M or Florida to the Sugar
Lesser of the above to the Orange
UT to the Outback
Auburn to the Citris
UK, Georgia, LSU and Ole MIss duke it out for the remaining spots.

I was there that year but the outback bowl chose us over Georgia, which was there right, but Georgia was higher ranked. I think the SEC was a little pissed also.

I know Nashville would die to get UK and it's 40,000 money-spending fans back. They love us there. I'm in Florida in January so I'm hoping for Tampa.

We're 4-3 people...for the love of God STOP JINXING US
If we lose Saturday, we will have no momentum headed into the UGA game and will likely lose that one too. With next to zero chance at beating UT and UofL on the road, we will once again be sitting at home with a 5-7 record. Fire Stoops!

Is that better?

At the present, it's NO BOWL! Hopefully that will change in the near future, but I have been disappointed the last two years when we had 5 wins, and it looked like we were going to get to the magic number.

OLD STOLL FIELD GUY!

We should have won the game against penn state. If I recall we had two punts blocked and both times our punter took his sweet time adjusting the football in his hands to get the seams correct before each kick.

My guess is Peach bowl if we only lows to Tennessee is the best we could do.

Bama likely going to the Peach Bowl. Have to be in the top 4 in the country to go there this year. It is a play in game for the National Championship game.

No, but wiseass, out of context responses never are so you already knew that.

The point is that people complain about all the negative posts and now that we have a little hope, people are complaining about the optimistic posts. In the end it is going to come down to the way the team is prepared and plays on game day. This message board is a reflection of how the team plays, not the other way around. It is beyond absurd to think that something said on CatsIllustrated is going to jinx the team. If you really believe it is then more power to you but please, let the rest of us enjoy speculating about the post season as long as the post season is still a possibility.

I will say No Bowl as well and would much rather enjoy being pleasantly surprised and proven wrong from week to week than getting my hopes and eventually crushed as only UK football can do.

What's beyond absurd is you getting your panties in a bunch over a simple "dont jinx us comment." Not all of us forgot the last two seasons' results or UK's history in general. You go ahead and count those eggs before they hatch to your heart's content.
