Noon start time. On SEC network. Competing with Keeneland. If the game was at 6 PM then a lot of the Keeneland crowd would make it a day. I would be happy with half the numbers listed above. But I suspect numbers will be in the 10-15K range. I would love to be so totally wrong and have 20K plus.

I will be there, rain or shine. Keeneland is a factor, but people can go to Keeneland any other Saturday this month. The bloom is off the rose a little bit, but lots of people are curious about the impact of Gran and Hinshaw. Weather will determine the size of the crowd. Best case, great weather, 30,000. Worst case, crummy weather with downpour, 12,000-15,000.

My family and I are actually going to Lexington today/tomorrow to watch the UK-LSU tennis match tomorrow afternoon. My older son is really big into tennis and my wife is a big LSU fan.

Much as I want to, just can't swing two weekends in a row going to UK. Thankfully the game will be televised and I will definitely be watching it.

My attendance prediction will be in the 20-22K range. I agree with other posters that the 12N start and competition from Keeneland will hurt attendance a little bit.

The start time isn't UK's doing though. It's all about accommodating the SEC Network which we must do. I'm sure Alabama, LSU, UGA etc...are getting the prime time slots...I'm still debating going or not. My wife works Keeneland and we were going together.

We are getting a later start time, Kirby is pushing for 93K, for the first one, doubt we get that many, but we have moved it back a week to get off Master's weekend, going to have a free concert by Lady Antebellum, I heard. Making a big deal to get as many letterman to come in as possible, something Richt seemed to avoid if they didn't play for him. That is a little more than double our normal attendance, anything less than 70K would be a bust I would think.

I was in Athens the past two days and the folks I talked to were crazy excited about Smart. Many were talking about a sell out.

I don't think the turnout will be very good. The crappy start time combined with it being on tv won't help. A lot of people are also in wait and see mode. Two straight disappointing seasons has taking a lot of the excitement out of the football program. Will some new assistants be enough to bring back the excitement with the same head coach still in charge? Will he give Gran complete control of the offense and let him run it the way he sees fit? I think Stoops has some work to do to get all the fans back on the bandwagon.

No doubt excitement level is as high around the program as its been in a long time. Lots of people excited about the new staff, unlike Richt Kirby is very outspoken about wanting people there, his practices are much more high tempo and intense according to everyone who has gotten to watch and he is very involved, especially on the defensive side, Richt had kind of evolved into a supervisor role. One of the big things is people are wanting to see Jacob Eason, who is running number 3 right now on the depth chart. I assume it will be a pretty big day recruiting wise too, but that's taken a whole different look this year. Instead of having a particular weekend or Jr. Day, Kirby has 3-5 kids there every day of the week, its crazy how many kids are visiting. He had a freshman day, supposely for top 50 instate frosh and had over 50 show up for that. He may not be able to coach a lick, but he is certainly high energy and places a high value on recruiting. He won't get everyone because of all the schools pratically on our border, AU, FSU, Clemson, even UF are just across state lines, We flushed AU by the way and they clogged the pipes and stuck.

Thanks for the report on Auburn, good news there.

I'll be there. I will be supporting a family member. I went to the open practice also. I enjoyed watching the new offense. I like some of the new wrinkles also.

?????????...have been to every spring game for many years and I can count on 1 hand the number of times we have had that many.

We could only hope------it would be a shame if we didn't have close to the 50,000 we had for Stoops first year, that is what got the ball rolling IMO, and we certainly have a lot more facilities and TALENT to be excited about now. Auburn had 40,000 at their game today, would be nice to match that, and saw a OSU fan post that they expect 50,000, but I expect .

Having it televised is both a blessing and a curse though, there is a lot more to enjoy in person and rewatching it later is nice, but------

Keeneland will have 30K+ this Saturday w/ the forecast as it is, w/ tons of UK students.

Spring game will be lucky to get 10K, most of which will be families and football diehards.

If I'm being optimistic, I'll say 12-15k. Just because some on this board forgot about last season, doesn't mean the majority of UK football fans did. People aren't going to be swayed into watching a practice now until wins go up on the board in the regular season.

You won't need your whole hand. I have been to, I believe, 8 of the last 10 and other than that huge crowd (50,000 ?) the first year they did the ticket thing there have been maybe 2 (?) other games that hit the 25K mark.

I'll miss it this year but I expect a "decent" crowd.

Peace

This will always be true unless it's at night.

I am a die hard football fan, but if its a spring game on Saturday night I would likely miss it myself. I would be doing my best plummer imitation if things went according to plan.

IF we finished 2015 at 6-6 or 7-5, 50,000 would be there. As it is, fans back to general doom and gloom with a splash of very cautious optimism whispered at social gatherings, bars and restaurants.

With the weather forecast, I'm fully expecting 30k+. I was there for the first Stoops spring game and the weather wasn't nearly as good as it's gonna be this weekend. I think lots of folks wanna see the new offense, how Barker looks, and the new linebackers.

Maybe I'm too optimistic, but I think it's gonna be a nice crowd.

28,000? The must have counted everyone who drove by the stadium. Quite honestly the spring game isn't much fun.
