Very, very disappointing and knew it would be...announced was 28,400 ...actual was 8k tops
I wasn't there, but watching on the DVR as I type this, I have to agree the actual count to be much closer to 8K than 28K. 28K would have just about filled up the bottom part of the stadium.

I was at the game (have the sunburn to prove it) and there is no way 28k was there. I was sitting in section 21 and there were rows empty in front of me and behind me. My guess is 10k-12k tops. Everywhere I looked the sections in the lower bowl were 1/4 full if that. Very disappointing to say the least.

I sat in West end zone and think if you combined both end zones and both sides the lower stadium would be half full. How many would that be?

Maybe 28k got tickets in advance, but most didn't show up. I think the excitement has been diminished to some degree. It is going to take some wins to get everyone back on board. Plus not completely collapsing to finish out the year for the third year in a row would be big.

28,000? The must have counted everyone who drove by the stadium. Quite honestly the spring game isn't much fun.
It is for fans like me because we LOVE KENTUCKY FOOTBALL...was told that the 28+k was the #of tickets distributed, but the truth is it was about a third of that and I'm pretty certain that will easily be the smallest crowd of all sec schools and my guess is that we will never get a time slot other than noon because of TV which means we will continue to have mediocre crowds...will have to give some folks credit though because there was several that sat with us in sec 105 that came over from Keeneland and left to go back at halftime . Catwalk was also very small and I attribute a lot of that to the merchandise they had for sell in Nutter which had some nice stuff, but was terribly organized as people were havin to stand in line for two hrs to pay for. I found several things a would have liked to have , but no way I'm standing in line that long. But, all in all I loved it because it was a perfect day and my love KENTUCKY football..#GOCATS

We went and sat in the upper section on the 50 in the second row and they made us move!!!

I mainly went for the surplus sale and was late getting over to that. Got a few commemorative plaques for the 06, 07, and 09 bowl teams. Didn't go in and watch the game but based on the parking lots and just the general amount of people milling around I was surprised to see the low numbers people are reporting. Did a lot of people stay out tailgating? I know a lot left at halftime because that was when I was checking out at the surplus sale and left.

Either way it was still more than a lot of the spring games I've attended where there were maybe 1,000 people.

People have to remember you can get up to 8 tickets for 1 season ticket. Stoops first year, our whole group of 7 got our entire allotment.

The sarcastic cynic in me would say that attendance would be enhanced if a Men's BB exhibition could be arranged before, and during halftime, and after the FB game. [JUST KIDDING!!] Sort of .... [eyeroll] Go ahead and blast away ....

Like we thought with the TV and start time it was going to be tough to have a large capacity. Had the game been at 6:30 the game would have attracted almost double the crowd. However in the big schemes of things you have to consider how many people watched the game on TV so the total viewership of the game qame probably quite high. . My wife worked Keeneland that day and she saw a lot of folks streaming the game on the mobile devices.

Watching the stream of the game or catching it on tv does not help the perception of the program!!! The truth of it is the game time sucked--which we will always have--and until the winning starts the fair weather or bb only crowd won't show up..we payed our own daily double by catching the practice and the girls SB game which had a huge crowd.

I'm sure it was more than 8000, but it wasn't anywhere near 32000. They should do something about the blue backed chairs. They were 90% empty. That is ridiculous. Clearly shows that those people don't care about football.

Absolutely no more than 8k...disgraceful just look at the games of other teams on sec network and you'll just shake your head.

38K at Keeneland was the big factor given the ridiculous noon kickoff. Otherwise, maybe 20K at the game would have happened. Or move this to a 7:30 kick.

Probably 12-15K but as lightly promoted as this game was I'm surprised that many showed up. The athletic dept didn't put a whole lot of effort into promoting this game.

yeah...no where close to 28,000...

make or break year for the football program/strategy as it is currently constructed...

If you can't fill the lower bowl of the stadium on one of the nicest days of the year immediately after having a blow out sale of merchandise right next door...that's a pretty loud message...

meanwhile keenland had record numbers over the weekend...

"well the races were going on so that took some numbers..."...no...people chose to go to the races rather than the game...there is a difference...

people would rather go lose money at the track than attend a free football event...and students with not a lot of money to burn who could have just slept in til 11:50 and just walked to the game, but instead they woke up early to get dolled up to go blow money ...horses running in circles folks...i'll never understand that or nascar but that's a topic for another day...

and the races last all day so you could have caught the game and then gone to the track...

bottom line the excitement just isn't there...that can change and I hope it does...but pretty clear that a lot of work still has to be done...

They could solve that by letting every seat in the stadium be open first come first serve and let people sit wherever they want to regardless of section

Not buying the Keeneland thing just another cop out... There were several guys that set up there around us that came over from Keeneland to be there for the start of the scrimmage and left at halftime so I'm not buying the excuse of the number of people that were at Keenland... that track is open for the entire month and you cannot tell me that people could not give up one Saturday if only to come for the first half and then go back..
