I hope he's back for Michigan. His defense is second to none. But I hope watching the team win a Big Ten road game without him makes him realize he doesnt have to be one of our key offensive players. Hyatt, Spencer, and Cliff need to be the three main scoring options with Paul and Caleb being the facilitators. If we use this formula, none of us will be sweating on Selection Sunday and we might even win a few in March.

Caleb needs to lock down Jett Howard. Dickinson is going to get his, we need to limit the rest of the team.

caleb is a ball sticker on offense rather than all ball mover. He’s an iso player which was our team last year.

Easy to say on days when spencer is shooting lights out. What about the days he goes 2-10? Caleb forces the issue a lot out of necessity.

Maybe, I hate to say it, Cam hit so many threes today because Caleb wasn’t in taking 24 shots and instead half of those went to Cam who sunk them

Not to say Cam is out of a slump (needs to show he’s back over a few games) - but Caleb would just ignore him. Maybe Cam scored more because when he was open to catch and shoot he got the ball.

In the first half the ball moved more efficiently without Caleb
So true, the stand between 3 point line and half court and waste 10 seconds before doing anything offense doesn’t work. Nor does the ring around the 3 point rosy. Gotta drive and dish, move without the ball and pass with zip on the ball.

I really think that Caleb has been playing with a less than fully healthy back all season, especially since his back has been an issue in prior seasons.

Even if his back is only slightly stiff or sore during a game (which will usually become worse during the course of a game due to the repeated pounding and trauma to the injured area), it can negatively affect his mobility, shooting mechanism and accuracy, and other aspects of his game. If he comes back too soon, all the medications in the world won't allow him to play at his maximum level during a game, and his next recovery could take even longer. And basketball is a sport that can cause significant trauma to a back injury and joints in general..

Trust me, I know from experience (horrible and dumb decision to insist on playing again before a back injury was fully healed after muscle and ligament damage), although I realize that all back issues aren't identical. And if Caleb was going to redshirt a few seasons ago because of his back, then the injury seems to have been a chronic one that could periodically flare up again with additional stress or trauma to the area.
