The quality of our 1A football players are way too often overlooked. Interested to hear where the 1A student/athletes from across our state are signing to play.

I guess they will be an independent in football for now, but they have a scheduling alliance with the South Athletic Conference according to the press release earlier this week. http://www.bartonbulldogs.com/sports/fball/2018-19/releases/20190206ql8yx4Is Barton switching conferences?
Yes formerly from East Lincoln but had zero offers before arriving to MICS.... Offers starting pouring in after MICS starting playing him at WR. Showing off his skill set so schools could see his versatility. Due to the fact he was an undersized QB. Great coaching move by MICS staff, then wow here comes Stanford...Marcus Graham from MICS (former East Lincoln standout) is heading to Stanford.
Congrats to the MICS coaching staff for making such a bold and un ordinary move. Kudos to them. But seriously, Washington and his staff do a great job of getting local kids exposure. They help a lot of other local kids that are not in their program which I can appreciate. I know this is a 1A thread but another East Lincoln guy who is at Hough signed with NC State.Yes formerly from East Lincoln but had zero offers before arriving to MICS.... You right, but again that kid had ZERO OFFERS also while attending East Lincoln....Congrats to the MICS coaching staff for making such a bold and un ordinary move. Kudos to them. He was a heck of a player at East. Had an offer from Air Force before leaving I believe. They had him and Jalen Frazier who is at Hough and signed with State. They beat Pisgah without those guys this year, with them they would have been in the running. Anyways, congrats to those guys.Wasn't he a sophomore at East?
Cant wait to watch Robbinsville, Swain, or Murphy send MIC all stars home early.
He received his 1st offer end of jr. At MICS October 26th 2017..... East Lincoln did absolutely nothing for his recruiting...He was a heck of a player at East. Yeah your right BK.... I can't wait for Robbinsville, Swain, or Murphy. To watch these Mics stars 4 years from now on Sunday's. It'll be some real water cooler talk in the Wal mart break room.....Wasn't he a sophomore at East?

We will watch your all stars on saturday with our Rings on.
How good at coaching do you gotta be to have all these Saturday kids but cant get outta your own way on friday. Let that sink in.
A lot of these camps are used to evaluate players the school is already actively recruiting. These coaches probably receive 100 highlight videos a day and as a recruiter, you don't have time to give ever video a fair look. You have to condense the nonsense some. Sure talent plays into it, but there is a lot more raw talent available at the 3A and 4A levels. The small school recruit has to work so much harder to get noticed and a lot of it has to do with the relationships the HS school coach has with the college as to how serious a look a kid will get. Its relationships. It's compatibility. It's talent. It's tenacity. It's keeping your grades up. There are a lot of balls in the air for a recruit. In a program like Tarboro, these players play football the same way from Lil Vikes to Varsity. When you have a kid that has played the same system for 10 years, how do you take a flyer on that kid assuming you can teach them to do things differently when there is another guy available that already knows how your system works. You can't tell me that doesn't play a part in how some schools can produce D1 talent and never get to a state championship.Imo system has very little to do with recruiting. If you're an athlete and can play they will find you. However, I think it's more important that kids attend combines and camps so that coaches can evaluate their athleticism and abilities.
We had a kid off that 2011 team that had zero offers, nobody knew who he was, but ended up getting an offer from Hampton after going to camp. Not saying system doesn't factor in but generally if you're a player and coaches think your skill set will translate then they will offer. I'm with you, Tarboro should have a lot more playing in college whether it be D1,2,3. In today's game with all the exposure opportunities that are available it's something to take advantage of. Wish camps and combines were in abundance when I played.A lot of these camps are used to evaluate players the school is already actively recruiting. Murphy has had lots of kids go on and play college FB. Many of which have had very good college careers. By that I mean they have both finished their education and their full FB college career. The same reason a team can win a ton of state championships and the players don't play college ball.
Its hard to build a state champion when you pull in kids from everywhere and those kids haven't came in playing together. Teams that have won several state championships like Murphy, Swain, Rville, Tarboro, WRH, Elkin, Ablemarle, Tville, etc. had the groundwork laid when those kids that won the state titles got to high school.
MIC is also pulling from a different demographic than the mountain schools. You're always going to have more kids from a metro area go on the play college sports over kids from the middle of nowhere. It's just a different type of athlete.
