I've been critical of stoops this season, but I won't apologize. I'm realistic! Losing to Sou Miss and getting blown out at FL was unacceptable. I've still gone to every home game and supported this program. I'd prefer to temper expectations and take it one game at a time. Let's play Mizzou, Georgia, and TN before we start proclaiming how great this team is......

Why would you post this? We all know what MIGHT happen. I'd rather enjoy what HAS happened, injuries or not, we're looking at a good shot at 7 wins, going to a bowl for possibly 8.
Because we have exactly one road SEC win under CMS in four years and the Vegas odds-makers have UK as a 4.5 dog. Those guys usually know their stuff. Then, we have the Georgia game and we know they're going to run it down our throats just like Bama.
But, to make you happy I'll say that the Georgia game may make or break UK's chances for a Bowl game this year. So, make the team will play hungry and with wild abandon.

Let's win a road SEC game and then we can talk about possibly going to a Bowl. Cause it's going to either take beating Mizzou on their field or beating the Dawgs at home coupled with a win over LetsGoPeay to make it happen.
How much more painful is that Southern Miss. loss now? How much worse will it look if we lose at Missouri and at home vs. Georgia?

The good news is, if we have turned the corner a bit and things go better in the future games then even we imagined. It had to have a starting point somewhere and if it had to take a SMiss game to realize it, that's ok with me. Remember in Brooks first successful year it took a 49-0 beating from LSU to get the train going.

I just said we should go 6-6, 7-5 early in the season folks....that's all...no matter how we get there...(yes, Vegas is usually right)...8-4/4-4 in conf/overall would be very good...who knows from this point forward, anything is possible...

My only criticism of Stoops and I think it is a fair one is he gets too emotionally involved on the sidelines (sometimes it's for understandable reasons) and loses his focus as a head coach. I think we should wait and see how this team plays the rest of this season because it could go either way with the next game we play. Sadly that is exactly where we have been the last two years.

Yep, call out the long-suffering UK football fan - many of whom have sat through thirty or more seasons of futility.

OP, understand - none of them owe you an apology.

Just get over yourself. You are an idiot if you do not think that the criticism towards Stoops is justified. I mean crap he got lucky this week that a 51 yard fg went through. What would you be saying if it had not? His time management in the last drive was horrible. These winnable games are unbearable to watch at times.

I'm not sure if I am one of those that you considered to be one of "those guys" but I was pretty harsh about our O-Line towards the beginning of the year. Heck, actually as recently as the beginning of this month. However, I was impressed with them in the Miss St game and it seems that everyone is playing better. Which is great!

We have our issues on this team for sure, but you're absolutely right.... Back2Back conference wins sure cures what ails ya. And to think, we've got a legit shot at having a 4-0 stretch in SEC play heading into the Tennessee game. I'd definitely be okay with that.

Really? Dumbest thread ever.

I fall into your category. Haven't we had a nice record after 6 or 7 games the last couple seasons?

Yeah......

Nope. You're not one of them I was referring to.

That constantly trash and complain? I guess consecutive SEC wins plus a winning SEC record will make them disappear. I think we all know who they are.

I suppose I'm one of the posters you are referring to, BUT I don't anticipate disappearing any time soon!!! :sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses:

I have been disappointed in Coach Stoops performance at UK--primarily because his UK teams have not been fundamentally sound and the in-game coaching of Coach Stoops and his staff has not been fundamentally sound. As his fourth season at UK got underway, I witnessed a team and a coaching staff that was still weak on FB fundamentals (blocking, tackling, catching, route running, pass coverage, taking care of the football, decision-making, halftime adjustments, etc.). My criticism is deeply rooted in the belief that POOR FUNDAMENTALS = LOSING FOOTBALL.

But I also believe in giving credit where and when credit is due!!!

I will never understand why it has taken sooooo long, but I sincerely believe that UK and its coaches are now making noticeable, albeit gradual, improvement in FB fundamentals. If Coach Stoops, his assistants, and our team can sustain and expand this improvement in fundamentals and continue recruiting at a high (for UK) level, IMHO we can have winning football at UK.

If the team and/or the staff regress in terms of fundamentals, I will not hesitate to make note of it on this board, because POOR FUNDAMENTALS = LOSING FOOTBALL!!! :sunglasses::sunglasses::sunglasses:

Don't count your chickens yet folks. Let's beat Missouri first. Beating them on the road or Georgia at home are not easy feats
This is Kentucky football afterall. Lose these and the last two wins don't matter. Things are falling our way and I dont think anyone wants to upset the apple cart. However, acting like we're already bowl bound is just as idiotic as wishing Stoops fails.

They always come back, they're like dog turds on your lawn when you don't even own a dog. Just keep one eye on the yard and another hand on the garden hose.

Or you can just make sure to wear shoes and avoid the land mines.
We must live in the same neighborhood. :flush:[poop][poop][poop]
