Excuses. And point being that none of these guys get kicked off the team if they were at Bama, OM, UT, Aub, etc. Heck ,Tim Williams missed the 1st half of the game last night after being caught with weed and a gun. He would be booted here. We are not serious about football. We are more interested in losing the right way. If those guys played basketball at UK they are still on the team.
It's a sport. Tim Williams had a gun and weed. Not inherently bad on their own. I think both should be legal on campuses, but it's AGAINST THE LAW. The kid BROKE THE LAW. There's a reason we have LAWS.
I don't honestly understand why people victimize criminals or undermine the severity of someone's crimes just because they are good at something. Sports, acting, music, politics, etc.
The kid is lucky he wasn't imprisoned. From reports coming out back in 2012, apparently Terrence Jones was "lucky" as well. Cal has applied some pretty harsh penalties on his kids before and they're typically not around for longer than a year to test the waters again and warrant removal. But don't let that get in the way.
Hatcher missed four games last season and that was his final warning. At some point, warnings become ineffective because the perpetrator knows you won't do **** or they don't fear the consequences. This permeates throughout the team. You have to follow through. Stoops doesn't have depth that allows him to sit someone who is toxic to the program for long enough to get their head on straight. Add in the fact that we can't afford locker room cancers, and it makes sense why some folks had to be let go.
Tubman was a university decision. That ish happened at a level above Stoops's authority. Are you going to find Stoops and make him UK's head coach AND president? How about the kangaroo court that botched the decision in the first place? Make that Mark's job as well.
Stop acting like holding players to a higher standard is a bad thing. It's disgusting. I thought the guy who told me that, yes, he would rather bring criminals in to play good ball even if it meant screwing the campus kids' safety was crazy. The more I read, however, I realize he's part of a massive group.
