I don’t claim to know much about the 2A race... but I pay attention to the 2AA pretty well.
I know this. In Big 2A, no one from the East can compete with the west.
North Davidson, as a finalist from the East last year would have been no higher than a 7 seed in the west. Likely as low as 10. Some of this is due to maxprep rating. Some of it is due to the large amount of excellent 2AA teams last year. Will it change this year? I don’t know. I can’t imagine it would.
The first 3 teams that ND played from the east were incredibly week. First Flight and Cummings were terrible. SW Edgecombe was way overmatched.

That's why I think Nd comes out the east again. Unless someone like Clinton moves up to big 2a east.
Exactly. I never meant that the east is weak overall... its just that their best teams are all in the small 2A.
I would expect them to be a handful in either 2A OR 2AA.. I still dont think it will be all easy for them this year, a lot of seniors and new coach will hopefully keep the rest of 2A'S competetive. Either way hibriten has had some good games the last couple years with them and dont expect that to change this year.
East Duplin had a legit team in 17' Hibriten won, but ED was just as good if not better.
I. Doubt Shelby will be 2a...i say numbers willbe back to bout same as last and year before.
Im sure were big 2aa in West.

Pretty sure i felt the same way last year.... Didnt work out too well for me...
Yeah, and it made you a sore loser, too. Like posters in every other fanbase would, y’all had about three posters who talked smack ever since the ‘17 game, BlueRidge Tire, one other Hibriten fan, and a West Caldwell poster.
We avenged our lose, and some of us fired back with some smack. Then, y’all want to scream “You have no class”. It’s real easy being humble in a loss. You, in a roundabout way, even threatened me, which I assure you would have been problematic for you, then you bashed the city in saying, “it comes with the territory”, which surprised me considering a typical Hibriten team looks like a Shelby team. I thought we’d only get that from mountain teams, maybe a couple of our arch rivals.

I am excited to see our Qb this year. We already have a lethal rushing attack. Add a passing game and BOOM! I seen Darin Perry #8 throw a bomb in a blowout win vs Bandy's in 2017. He threw a tight spiral 50 yards in the air and would have hit the wr in the hands had it not been for him being tackled before the ball got there. We did get the 15 yard penalty but that kid has a cannon arm. Hibriten will be tough again this year!
I don't think anyone's sleeping on Clinton. The truth is that right now Northeastern is the team to beat in the east and they have earned it. WRH and Clinton will no doubt be serious contenders. So many teams in the east are loaded, there's going to be a lot of nail biting come playoff time.
Why would they pick Clinton? Horses have been sent home by 3rd round in recent years.
Yea cause a team has never lost in the 2nd round the previous year and made it to regional finals or further the next season thats never happened in the history of NC High school football lol
The last time the Dark Horses sniffed the 4th round, Northside Jax sent them home with an L. Clinton was supposed to have an all world back field that year. Its like picking Nebraska to win the national title because they show some small progress. Nobody said Clinton sux or is a bad team. Don't get offended because the name Darkhorse conjures up crickets and tumbleweed at the mention of their name.
Can’t speak for 34, but I’m not offended. I was just saying I’m glad no one is talking about us as a contender.

Dont think Clinton is worried about how they will do this year. In 2003 East Careret won 2 games and didnt make the playoffs. In 2004 they went to the Eastern Div Championship game. Just sayin .....
DING DING DING we have a winner.....Clinton was an above average team at best last year. Squeaked by WRH and then lost to a very mediocre East Duplin team in a game that was not as close as the score indicated. Based on what I saw in Clinton paper, numerous key players graduated and will have to be replaced. Their posters will tell you otherwise though. Schedule is not that difficult so expect a fast start.

The dark horses a will make some big noise this Year And My Goodness WRH Is Loaded With Everything This Year!! So we Will see who comes out on top!!
I was just saying that because we won the east last season and with an influx of top transfers this season we may be even better.
Come to think of it, Hibriten and North Davidson with their legions really shouldn't even be in 2A/2AA.
They're preventing opportunities for mediocre teams like Clinton, Maiden, SWE, and SWO to play Shelby.
On the flip side they keep the regional and title games from being too boring, kinda like Huss(and Monroe) did.
