His first Egg Bowl appearance was a horrible experience for him.
I couldn't believe that Dan Mullen turned him into a good quarterback with flashes of brilliance.</p>

Maybe both. Thought we got him because no one else threw a scholly at him and we had to have somebody, anybody, at QB. But has he improved. He looked brilliant in some games and we'd have two more wins this year if he had a better o-line. Plus he graduated. All State fans should be glad he chose to wear maroon and white. Hope he has a good life after college.

He and the staff knew what he was capable of and what he wasn't. He played to his strengths as well as he could and ended up being a pretty solid SEC QB. He deserves to be remembered by the fans for a long time. Thank you, Chris Relf, for not trying to be a QB that you weren't and thank you, Dan Mullen and staff, for not forcing Chris Relf to be a pocket passer a la Crooms and Omar.
