An awfully lot of the " old If'in game" would have to happen before this could be a remote possibility! If the Cats continue this run they're on, and make it to Atlanta and win a rematch with Alabama, what would have to happen for UK to make the playoff?
Don't see how the SEC champ could be left out.
Won't happen. And the playoff committee picks the "best 4" without specific regard for conference champions. So if your scenario actually played out a 1 loss 'Bama team is in before a 3 loss UK team.If the Cats continue this run they're on, and make it to Atlanta and win a rematch with Alabama, what would have to happen for UK to make the playoff?
Don't see how the SEC champ could be left out.
We will not be ranked with wins the next 2 weeks over a 2-7 or 3-6 Missouri team and most likely a 4-5 UGA team. We would have wins against teams with the following current records:It won't happen, but it is an interesting question to pose simply as a hypothetical, especially when you consider this.
If Kentucky beats Mizzou this week, and Georgia next week, they'll be ranked heading into Knoxville.

Pass it to the left. We have yet to beat a team above .500. And you want to think playoffs. If the Cats continue this run they're on, and make it to Atlanta and win a rematch with Alabama, what would have to happen for UK to make the playoff?
Don't see how the SEC champ could be left out.
Tell that to Washington and Nebraska. We will not be ranked with wins the next 2 weeks over a 2-7 or 3-6 Missouri team and most likely a 4-5 UGA team. We would have wins against teams with the following current records:
2-5
3-4
4-4
2-5
2-5
4-3
You don't go 6-3, with wins over those 6 teams and become ranked. It just doesn't happen.
You mean those two undefeated teams?Tell that to Washington and Nebraska.
Are you trying to jinx us!? Go Cats!!If the Cats continue this run they're on, and make it to Atlanta and win a rematch with Alabama, what would have to happen for UK to make the playoff?
Don't see how the SEC champ could be left out.
They have beaten no one, and are highly ranked. You say we would not be ranked with wins over bad teams. Nebraska and Washington, even though undefeated, have beaten no good teams. I think 1 has beaten a team over .500.You mean those two undefeated teams?
I said "You don't go 6-3, with wins over those 6 teams and become ranked. It just doesn't happen."They have beaten no one, and are highly ranked. And I am saying look at the teams Washington and Nebraska have beaten. They are about the same quality. So yes you can beat losers and still get ranked.I said "You don't go 6-3, with wins over those 6 teams and become ranked. It just doesn't happen."
You forgot the part about losing 3 games. If those teams were 6-3 with their schedule, they would not be ranked. And I am saying look at the teams Washington and Nebraska have beaten. They are about the same quality. So yes you can beat losers and still get ranked.
It is more about when you when than who you beat.
I have a better chance of Kate Upton showing up at my door tonight wanting to get naked than a 3 loss team does of making the playoff.
Maybe she'll show up and shake 'em at ya? That's a win, too.
Why not shoot for the sky right...and the answer is no.
Tell that to Washington and Nebraska.
