IS IT POSSIBLE that Vandy is just that good, and losing Sellers simply doomed us from what was shaping up to be a 60 minute war vs a (hard to type this) a legit top 20 Vandy team??

Just looking at game results, LSU beat Clemson (1-2)17-10, and then defeated UF (also 1-2) 20-10.
So just on the face it LSU is not looking invinceable, however this game is not till 10/25 a week after Vandy plays Bama, and these are nothing more than betting odds.
I wouldn't make too much of this

The right coach makes a huge difference.
Bama and FL are clear examples of the wrong coach, and we are teetering on the edge.
But I'm blaming Beamer's refusal to fire and hire the right coordinators and not necessarily his HC abilities (although hiring/firing is a key aspect of being the HC)

Vandy doesn't play LSU until Oct 18. That game is at home. They have Ga State and then Utah State at home before going to 'Bama on Oct 4. That starts a stretch of 5 straight games against ranked SEC teams. Vandy will probably go 7-5 or 6-6.

LSU has a great defense, but an offense that for some reason is ineffective. Pavia is going to put up points on anyone. LSU's offense only got 13 on UF defense. The other 7 points came from a pick-6. Despite FOUR additional picks thrown by UF, LSU only had 13 points. It's pretty darned weak. I don't bet sports, but I would bet the Vandy pimp if I did.

Agree on all three points.

On the uniform thing; we are the laughing stock of the SEC with our obsession with uniform combinations, we put more emphasis on the "fashion show" aspect of what uniform combination we wear than we do on the game itself sometimes. The top teams in the SEC, and the nation for that matter, generally have one home and one away uniform, they don't have some wardrobe full of jersey, pant and helmet options they choose from each week. South Carolina needs to come up with a home uniform and a road uniform and stick with them. We have to have "CAROLINA" in big block letters on the front of our jerseys so people watching on tv will know who the team is. Bama, LSU, UGA, ND, Penn State, Ohio State, USC, Texas, etc. don't have to have their name on the front of the jersey so people will know who they are. Their uniforms tell everyone who is playing. Maybe it is a state of SC thing? Clemson wears all sorts of weird combos too. Their all orange look reminds me of those survival suits they have on oil rigs and crab fishing boats.

We had those away jerseys that were white with little garnet and black stripes around the sleeves where the sleeve met the body of the jersey. They looked like we were wearing backpacks. When we wear garnet jerseys, helmets and pants we look like a HS team. I like the all white look for away games and garnet jersey, white pants and white helmet with block C logo for home games. It doesn't have to be what I like but for the love of God, please pick some combination and stick with them.

That goes way back. Mike is one of the most underappreciated QB in SC history - well, maybe Harper too. (That win against UM at their place was one of the best wins in our history, but not many remember it.)

Correct. Starting with the Alabama game, Vandy will lose 5 straight games, potentially all by multiple TDs. Their win over a ranked Carolina team will be like Georgia Tech's win over #10 FSU in Ireland to kickoff last season.

As for the uniforms, after getting the crap beat out of us by VANDY, my list of things I was unhappy about in that game is very long. Our uniforms aren't even on the front side of that page.

We basically wore GGW from Joe Morrison to Lou Holtz. Spurrier liked the white helmet because that's what he wore. Muschamp went back to Garnet helmets. Isn't that what happened?

As with our game against Vanderbilt, we will learn a lot about both Vanderbilt and LSU this weekend. LSU has not looked impressive, and Vandy has not beaten a good team.
