You know how Joe Paterno was at Penn State for forever?

I think Stansbury has earned the right to do what Penn State was wanting to let Joe Pa do. As long as he doesn't bang a cheerleader or hide some sex scandal, Stansbury should be able to retire whenever he wants and also name his successor. And before Coach asks, I'm completely sober and not on drugs.

Stans has had the same level of success that Joe Pa had at Penn Stat. I am very proud of our multiple National Championships.

...but even I think you're full of ****. No coach should EVER have that right...and Penn State is a prime example of why.
When you make one man more powerful than your program, it's easy for people to look the other way.

A lotof our fans, along with Polk, thought he should get to name his successor. I'm much happier that didn't happen.

and let me say, I don't think Joe Pa had any national championships within the first 14 years. They had 2 national championships and they were in 1982 and 1986. Joe Pa began as head coach at Penn State in 1966.

the right. It's not a position I should be in, though I should give a
lot of input."</span></font></h6>

If Coach K at Duke can't name a successor, then Stansbury sure shouldn't.

You never give a coach that you are paying big money to produce the "right" to retire when he wants OR name his successor. That's a recipe for disaster.

then I shudder to think what it would take to finally get rid of his mediocre ***.
