Lindale (Texas) four-star interior offensive lineman Casey Poe is scheduled to take five official visits in June and July. One of them will be to Alabama from June 23-25.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Crimson Tide are leading for Poe at 70.6%. Alabama’s odds rose greatly following an expert prediction from On3’s Sam Spiegelman.

“The Tide have had steady success in east Texas as of late, with Poe being atop their board for offensive linemen in 2024,” Spiegelman said. “Georgia and the Tide are both positioned well and if a decision comes this summer, I like both teams’ chances. I lean toward Alabama, for now.”

Poe is the No. 154 overall prospect and No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 28 player in Texas.

On3 rates Poe higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, he is the No. 34 overall prospect, No. 1 interior offensive lineman and the No. 8 player in Texas.

“They produce more offensive linemen into the NFL than a majority of other schools, if not any other school,” Poe told Joseph Hastings of BamaInsider. “They just sent me a graphic that in the past three years, they’ve been able to put together a full offensive and defensive team in the NFL. That’s pretty amazing.”

Poe work mark a massive recruiting win for Alabama

Alabama’s development of offensive linemen is not the only reason Poe is interested in the Crimson Tide. He has also built a strong relationship with offensive line coach Eric Wolford.

“He’s honestly been one of the most frequent coaches to reach out to me out of any program,” Poe said. “I think it’s daily; he’s either texting me a graphic or seeing how I’m doing. We just get on the phone once or twice a week. We’ve been able to build a good relationship. Every time I see him, he’s always excited and fired up. He’s always asking when I’m going to commit. Trying to get that early commitment.”

Alabama’s 2024 recruiting class is currently No. 3 in the 2024 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the SEC. Head coach Nick Saban and his staff do not currently have any commitments from interior offensive linemen. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide’s group is led by Carlsbad (Calif.) five-star quarterback Julian Sayin, the No. 14 overall prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking.
