Multiple universities and student athletes have gone deep into the new world of Name, Image, and Likeness across college athletics. Alabama has become the latest university to unveil a NIL collective, titled High Tide Traditions.

The High Tide Traditions website is being used to help connect Alabama student athletes with NIL opportunities across the state and also the entire nation.

“High Tide Traditions was established to harness the power of Name, Image, and Likeness with student-athletes to make and propel positive business relationships across the city, state, region and nation,” the website states. “Through strategic partnerships utilizing data analytics, it is important to High Tide Traditions that student-athletes will be engaged in amplifying the exposure for our business partners through relatable and authentic content, appearances, and other mutually beneficial services.”

On the website, Alabama offers a free NIL assessment for student athletes. The four main pillars of High Tide Traditions spell out “TIDE,” and offer a number of opportunities for NIL growth for Alabama’s student athlete population.

Teamwork: “Collaborating to create mutual value”
Innovate: “Unlocking the potential of NIL through data analytics and custom partnership opportunities”
Discover: “Building partnerships that promote student-athlete growth”
Elevate: “Developing a launch point for student-athletes in both athletics and industry”

In creating High Tide Traditions, Alabama is trying to find business opportunities all over to help create NIL opportunities for student athletes.

Alabama is the latest athletic department to officially join the NIL landscape

Over the past couple of days, a few schools have unveiled different NIL collectives around the nation. Clemson unveiled its new NIL program, “Reign,” on Friday. Florida State also unveiled “Rising Spear” on Monday.

Additionally, Penn State quarterback Sean Clifford launched his own NIL agency. Clifford has experience in the NIL world as a player, and now he wants to serve as a resource to others as they get accustomed to the rapidly changing NIL landscape across college athletics.

Alabama is one of the most prominent brands across sports, and prominent athletes at the university have already seen success through NIL. Now, with High Tide Traditions further strengthening the relationship between the school and potential NIL opportunities, that success should continue and grow moving forward.
