He is an Auburn legacy. But Ryan Williams is ready to create his own path and make his own name at Alabama.

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound four-star wide receiver in the 2025 class out of Saraland (Ala.) has over a dozen offers. Williams has visited Tuscaloosa four times and he feels good about being part of the program.

“It was tough growing up being an Auburn fan, but Alabama made it easy to make my decision,” Williams told On3 about his commitment. “I felt at home, my family felt at home and Alabama has shown they care about me on and off the field.”

Since offering, Alabama has recruited Williams hard. They have shown the “most love” and that starts with wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins. The two are building a strong relationship.

“I like talking with coach Wiggins. He is a coach that I can communicate with and I know he can help me get better. He is a coach that looks for the details and wants to make his players the best they can be. I know he will push me every rep I take.”

Williams is a member of the On3 2025 Football Prospect Watch List and he is Alabama’s first commitment in that class. Schools aren’t going to give up on a talent like Williams, and he could take visits down the road, but he feels good about the Crimson Tide.

“I feel like I fit in there,” Williams said. “Since the day I stepped on campus and everyone was bought in and talking to me. It was a natural feeling.”

The 2025 On3 Consensus ranks Williams as the No. 19 overall sophomore in the country.
