The injuries continue to mount for Alabama during Saturday’s game against Arkansas. First, it was Bryce Young, then the Crimson Tide defense took a hit.

Safety Brian Branch headed to the locker room after he ran into teammate Henry To’oTo’o and was slow to get up. He headed to the injury tent shortly thereafter and eventually went back to the locker room.

In the third quarter, the CBS broadcast reported Branch will be out for the remainder of the game as a result of the injury. Through four games this season, Branch has 20 tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and a sack as a key part of the Crimson Tide defense.

Alabama is trying to improve to 5-0 on the season, but went much of the first half without Young after he left with an apparent shoulder injury. The Crimson Tide didn’t miss a beat, though, with Jalen Milroe coming in at quarterback and had a commanding 28-7 lead over Arkansas heading into halftime.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young injured in game against Arkansas

No. 2 Alabama is out to an early lead against No. 20 Arkansas, but all eyes are now on the injury tent following a hit quarterback Bryce Young took on a third-down play early in the second quarter.

Young immediately went to the injury tent following the third-down play, which came up incomplete and forced Alabama to punt.

He threw his helmet down on the sideline before heading into the tent. It’s unclear what happened to Young, who didn’t appear to be hit on the play, but the 2021 Heisman Trophy winner immediately looked to be in pain.

“As he let go, he doesn’t touch anything,” CBS broadcaster Brad Nessler said. “But the grimace on his face tells the story and (he is) hanging that right arm. Pointed at his shoulder.”

As CBS showed replays of the play, fellow broadcaster Gary Danielson also chimed in:

“It’s almost as if his shoulder popped out or something. He’s holding it like he’s got a dead shoulder, doesn’t he?

“The prior series on the scramble on third down when Drew Sanders hit him, he throws the ball at the last second. As he extends his arm, he lands on it. Right at the end he’ll grab his shoulder. Ness, I tore my rotator cuff on a play exactly like that. Extending my arm and landed on an extended arm. You don’t know it’s hurt until you throw the next throw. Let’s pray that’s not the case.”
