Bryce Young is one of the highest grossing college football players in the country, but his performance on the field has overshadowed any of the off-field NIL endorsements the Alabama star quarterback has inked this season.

Earlier this week, the Crimson Tide signal caller was asked if NIL deals are a major topic in the Alabama locker room.

“Between players, not at all,” Young responded emphatically.

“NIL was something we all knew and Coach Saban told us was kind of an external factor,” Young said. “So for us, when you enter the building, nobody is thinking about NIL. Nobody is thinking about stuff outside. It’s not something we are talking about. There hasn’t been any discussion about it. We are all engaged and locked in on what’s important, and that’s winning games. Anytime we are in the facility, that’s all we are concerned about.”

The question about the NIL likely comes in wake of Bryce Young’s recent partnership with Subway.

The Crimson Tide star announced he now has his own sub called “The Tuscaloosa” which is composed of steak, bacon, Monterey cheddar cheese and chipotle sauce.

“A sub worthy of a dynasty,” Young included on his Instagram story.

The sophomore is one of the highest-paid college athletes in the nation as a result of the new rules surrounding name, image and likeness. Alabama head coach Nick Saban mentioned this summer the quarterback is making in the seven-figure range and that figure has only grown as new deals have come in.

Bryce Young on biggest lessons learned as first-year starter

A quick look at his numbers and performance will clearly show the Alabama quarterback is fully focused on football.

Young is coming off another tremendous performance where he carved up the Arkansas defense for 559 yards, breaking the school’s single-game passing record that had stood for more than half a century.

With just two games remaining on the regular season schedule, the Alabama signal caller was asked about his biggest learning lessons in his first year as starting quarterback.

“I think just trying to navigate what is most important as far as being successful as an offense and as a team,” Bryce Young responded.

Young leads Power Five quarterbacks with 33 touchdown passes, and he is second in passer rating only behind Georgia’s Stetson Bennett. Young is accurate and careful with the ball, boasting a 70.9% completion percentage and having thrown just three interceptions this season.
