James Smith, Qua Russaw set for Alabama unofficial

Montgomery (Ala.) Carver five-star teammates Qua Russaw and James Smith are taking their official visits to Georgia this weekend.

But on their way back from Athens, Ga., they will stop by Alabama for an unofficial visit Monday, On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons reports.

The On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies — has Russaw as the No. 23 overall recruit and Smith as the No. 8 prospect in the 2023 cycle.

The two are taking many of their visits together and may end up as a package deal at the next level.

The Bulldogs and Crimson Tide are the two favorites for the duo at the moment. Auburn, which is getting an official visit next weekend, appears as a distant third.
