LOOK: Troy takes ridiculous dig at Alabama, Auburn following 12-win season

The Troy Trojans football social media team really got on their high horse on Saturday afternoon. While they had a wildly successful season and won 12 games, the Trojans’ social media team decided to do something that’s never advisable while Nick Saban is the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. Troy decided to say that they are the best college football team in the state of Alabama, since they won 12 games and Alabama only won 11, which is downright laughable. They also made sure to point out the win totals of South Alabama (10), UAB (7), and Auburn (5).

Check it out here.

All the credit in the world to the Troy Trojans. Historically, they’ve been one of the better non-Power Five programs in college football. 12 wins is a really, really good season for them. But acting like you’re better than Alabama is not going to do you any favors, especially when the Trojans had close calls with the likes of the Texas State Bobcats (17-14) and the Army Black Knights (10-9). That’s not even mentioning that Troy got spanked by the same Ole Miss team 28-10 that Alabama beat 30-24.

While this year’s version of Alabama football might not be quite as good as some of the Nick Saban teams in the past, they were still really, really good. They only had two losses (Tennessee and LSU) by a combined total of four points.

Alabama quarterback Bryce Young was spectacular against KSU

Bryce Young put on an absolutely spectacular display in the Sugar Bowl against the Kansas State Wildcats, carving their secondary up to the tune of a 45-20 beatdown. Young demonstrated why he’ll be one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2023 NFL Draft, completing 15 of his 21 passes for 321 passing yards, while tossing in five touchdowns and no interceptions. With 13:54 remaining in the third quarter, Young threw one of the most beautiful touchdown passes of the 2022-2023 season, a 32-yard strike in the back right corner of the end zone to Ja’Corey Brooks. Young planted his foot at the 40-yard line and spun a beautiful spiral right over the head of Kansas State corner Julius Brents.

While it’s unlikely the Troy Trojans will ever step foot on the same field as the Crimson Tide, it sure would be fascinating to watch now that they decided to taunt Alabama on social media.
